So the new thing for execs to post on LinkedIn is “…..spent time on the ground with xyz team”. Where do these mo--nic sayings come from? Two leaders this week have used this line on LinkedIn. Do they think anyone is impressed or cares? Not as bad as Iris saying she enjoys stepping away from the boardroom to meet with teams.

@OP There is apparently a corporate slang guide that all businesses use. It has all the hits. North Star, Golden Source, Circle back, Exercise, Where do you sit? (In a chair usually), Touch base, Pull up, Interface, Dialogue, etc,etc, etc.
When a new term is added it is required that it be used as quickly and as often as possible and the first person to use it gets to claim that they coined the phrase.
And "on the ground" is all about getting in touch with the little people to show that they are willing to lower themselves to the worker's level. They may even break bread with the common folk as long as they can upchuck it later and then share their experiences with the other elites when they all fly back to their tower.
Flying back to the tower looks a lot like the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz going in and out of the witch's fortress.
DEI "leadership" .... Living in a bubble ... Is like Gods coming down from the clouds to talk to the ants... or something.
