Their last day is 9/4. Got a random meeting today on their calendar with higher ups and HR. For their safety and making sure that they are not retaliated against, I will reveal nothing about them. I am sad to see them go. They didn't deserve it.

Same happened to me today during my normal touchbase. As soon as I saw the hr rep on our teams call I knew I was being laid off. I asked about being considered for another role just months ago but my director was totally against me vacating my current role to take on the new opportunity on our team. Now my last day will also be 9/4.
What department was this in?
Man you guys ...Im so sorry :( So m,any of us are just so sad and basically waiting for the axes to fall.... or not ... and the or not just means we all get to work EVEN HARDER to make up for all those people not being there anymore. It's really hard to know what to do at this point. Loyalty seems to be dead, and nobody is being honest with whats going on.

@a5 I can only speak for myself but my whole team is being let go so we are staying to clean up because there is not going to be anyone left to do it for us.
Got the news! Last day 9/4. Does anyone know how long it takes before we receive a severance package?
I wonder why some are able to stay to 9/4 while others were not. The ones on my team that were laid off today aren't coming back. It was effective today. They are leaving behind alot of work for the rest of us so it's not like they weren't needed.
So sorry for everyone who was involuntarily let go. I hope you find amazing opportunities in the future. People who stay need to keep sharp because nothing is secure.

Can you reveal their team or org? Would be nice to know at least that to warn others. Especially if meetings are still being sent out.
