I work for a team that manages OIM data. I reported seeing account deactivations being enqueued before the last round of layoffs and got some denial pushback from people here. Well I just wanted to say, again, I’m seeing account deactivations being enqueued in our system. I can’t share who since I’m not going to make that query in my name (I just maintain the health of the databases). But the tables are populating.

How far ahead of the layoff date in march did you see the accounts getting enqueued?
I recall that you spot-on called it for the last round in March.
I self deactivated 4 years ago. It was one of the best days of my life. I actually celebrated like it was the funeral of Oracle. I went out and got totally plastered. Hahahahagaga.

@a9 I’m not going to disclosure anything more other than they are being enqueued. I’m purposefully being vague enough to not draw enough conclusions about who, what, where, how.
@aj Many were deactivated on the spot. Email and gone.
Several people, including me, had a permanent OIM entitlement disappear last Monday
@a8 Last year those laid off were kept on garden leave long enough for their RSU's to vest. Granted, for some there was still a big chunk of RSU's that did not vest last year and those were clawed back.
@a2 this behavior has been observed in the past. If the table in the DB that is growing in size is used to store records to be deactivated in the future than it seems conclusive. Starting six or more weeks in advance isn't out of the realm of possibility. There is probably a lot of work that needs to be done in advance to make these mass layoffs run smoothly. They seem to have this process down to an art.
@OP For what date are they enqueued?
@a5 RSUs are an insignificant percentage of the overall number of shares outstanding. The number of RSUs vesting on a specific day are a fraction of the total number of RSUs granted. I don't think firing people before their RSUs vest significantly changes the financial outcome for Oracle one way or the other. It may be intentional but it is more likely a coincidence.
there is always a round of layoff around early September to claw back unvested RSU - which is one of the main points of all these layoffs. they are in dept, the stock price is falling, in the past they just bought back stocks to keep their price up and compensate stock dilution due to RSU programs. now Oracle is heavily in dept, so they cannot buy back anymore, so the only thing they can do instead - erase the dilution by preventing RSUs vesting.
Seeing the same trends with multiple posts referring to another RIF in September as we saw in March. Hope it’s not true.
