Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

People are leaving faster than ever

Where are they all going? The job market su-ks, yet every week somebody else is gone (not laid off, quits). Where are these jobs they're getting hidden?

Wendy’s is still hiring, and the dumpster behind it always has room for one more if you’ve got the or-l skills.

@OP those who are leaving are among the few who are not suffering from the Oracle Doormat Principle and are still able to show some self respect.

If you run the numbers and can swing it, sometimes anywhere is better than here.

Some of them are just not willing to accept all the changes and retire and do not have a need to look for another job.

@aw nice story but what really happened? 40 years career and 10+ jobs that is an average of less than 4 years per job. For the first half of your career job hopping was viewed as unreliable. It has really only gotten to be acceptable in the past 20 years and going forward it will be the norm.

I never looked for a job in my life (40 years of work). I worked for 10+ companies.
Every change of job started with someone calling me; always someone I had worked with, or for, in the past.

You make your own market.

@OP

No. The job market su-ks for you. Evidently, not so for those leaving...you will have to figure this out on your own.

@a1 Oracle makes a big deal about Oracle Modern Best Practices. They've had plenty of time to get this one honed. Now it's just Agentic AI running it, surely!
