Tomorrow is approaching for those in the US, and with whatever you’re hoping to have happen tomorrow, I hope you’re going to be ok. I’m honestly sick to my stomach. We just had our son in April, and as the primary income earner of the house, I’m scared. Working in tech support feels like being a crew member on the Titanic. I’m mid 30s now. Not sure how to support a household and go back to school.

I know a lot of people are indifferent, or just want to it to happen. “Quit if you hate that much” has been mentioned a lot. And I’m definitely angry at the company. I would quit if there wasn’t anyone depending on me. The job market seems uncertain right now. My resumes looks depressing all of a sudden. It’s all exhausting.

Anyone could share advise on what to say or not say during this business update meeting base on experience is the severance something you can negotiate ?

If you have your health and a family, you are already rich. Everything works out and you will get by. Try not to fret, where there is a will there is a way. You will make it work.

You have a family, thats the greatest treasure. Some of us would trade anything for that.

Keep your head up. Lots of uncertainty but having PayPal on your resume is a big deal and one that should be displayed. Wish you all the best regardless of what’s to come. I did talk to the manager who confirmed he learned from a business update meeting as well fwiw.

@a4 lol you think this company is unique? Fiserv has been chopping heads for the last two years and project to keep going through 2029z.

It’s like the Corporate America version of the Hunger Games. It makes me so sad to see what has become of this once great company. We had great culture and great benefits. We had great people working here. I wish all of you the best.

@OP feel you it’s very frustrating my wife is pregnant and I’m also the only provider it scares the sh…t out of me I have also a lot of anger against this leadership team I guess I should just accept my fate wish you the best anyway

The company will fire and then hire back over the next few years. Rinse and repeat.
