Yes, there is a PIP target of 15% with the aim of cutting 8% by end of year. Some managers are pushing back, but the higher ups are not bulging.
IBM doesn’t want to do RAs. It looks bad to the shareholders. The company’s strategy is to force managers to target 15% of their team as low performers (even when there is none), and put them on PIPs or de-incentive them by making their lives miserable (more work, no salary increase, etc.) to get them to leave. @as do not accept, decline
@b3 I didn’t get invite?
@b3 Alvind will announce IBM is officially named to “India business machine “ and he is signing the executive order immediately.
@b0 it’s not an All Hands meeting. It’s his monthly CEO Office Hours meeting.
The id--t CEO just announced an all hands meeting next Wednesday. So guessing whatever happens is going to go down next week.
Layoff Thursdays
Out of the blue 1-1 meeting with manager for tomorrow.
I am planning to be on vacation for 2 weeks.
@ac you about to be PIPed. Save all your documents and past reviews now in safe place you can access later. Ask for what is said to be put into writing in an email. Also ask if you can record meeting or covertly record meeting with phone. Save and document everything.
@ac Not likely an RA. Those don't happen this late in the week. RAs happen on Tuesdays. If it's anything, you're getting PIPed...or promoted.
I received an unexpected 1-1 with the manager for tomorrow. It might be it.
@a9 what is you area?
