Top brass needs to read " Fire 90% of HR tomorrow': Viral tweet by Amanda Goodall sparks corporate America meltdown". ... "Her conclusion was incendiary: remove 90% of HR tomorrow and businesses would run “smoother, faster and happier.” Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) handle, Goodall wrote, “HR is the only department that gets a free pass for being completely useless. They produce zero revenue, ki-l morale with endless policies, protect the company NOT you, and somehow still get invited to every meeting like they're essential. Remove 90% of HR tomorrow and the business would run smoother, faster, and happier. Change my mind (sic).”
But...but...we are going to be an "Ai fIRsT oRgANiZaTiON!!111!!!" We hired yet more VPs!
What an absolute clown show.
Down 61% in five years and these geniuses are still running around deciding which ordinary employee needs to be “optimized” next. Maybe point that fancy performance-management microscope toward the executive floor for once.
At this rate, the stock chart is the most honest employee CDW has. It shows up every day and tells shareholders exactly how well the brilliant strategy is working.
BRING IT!
@dt
Leahy's CDW strategy is based on investor sentiment and stock performance.
She was quiet until her decisions resulted in the decline in stock price. You can create a timeline and literally see as her moves failed and as we missed earnings for like 2 yrs...that's when all the cost cutting and layoffs started.
Outsourcing to India and now trying to invest in AI (something they don't even undertand)...
Until shares turn around...the pain inflicted from above will stay.
@dt
The share trajectory and investor sentiment drives Leahy, Liz, and rest of the over their heads DEI leadership to take action and the stock price demonstrates where the market sets value for CDW based on those decisions and performance.
The stock tanking steadily over 5 years is a result of missed earning for 8 quarters in a row until some current beats but the amount of Profit/GP that our leadership burns is what is the issue currently.
If the stock was climbing...there wouldn't be repeated mass layoffs, accelerated AI implementation (this is them trying to save money by spending on AI like they bought Sirius to try and become a Services company), and decreasing comp by nickel and diming people everyone year or frw quarters.
If the stock was climbing you wouldn't have people posting here as a avenue to get thier thoughts shared into the world.
I end with stating... F our leadership as they. They aren't or won't be hurt by what's going on. They have generational money unlike the people they want respecting and looking up to them.
We're just expendable cogs to them. Numbers on a spreadsheet. Liabilities. We're a cost for them to manage via layoffs and compensation reduction.
@b0 This site is about layoffs, not how you think as an investor the company's strategy should shift. Find another board on Redditt or whenever they aligns with your intent.
@cq The timing of sales is set for the C Suite well in advance and it becomes an automatic transaction. It would have sold regardless of its price on that specific day.
@aa Elizabeth Connelly, sold 26,695 shares for roughly $3.67 million , probably for that new place in Aspen or the The Hamptons.
@b1 Agree 100%, his would not have occurred under Tom.
@aa COO
@OP You forgot to add, ruining peoples' lives with repeat and regular layoffs. I think that matters too.
Looks like Nike followed the same path, their stock hit a 12-year low this week, which dropped almost 80% since it's high in 2021 ... $200 billion in market value erased! It would be great if Nike, Disney, CDW and the others would stick to their core business.
Also our VP sold $3 million of their stock woohoo
