For as cr-ppy of a place to work as this place has become, I have seen a few people boomerang back, which made me curious. If you left and regretted it, what changed your mind? And for those who came back, what made you return?

I went back as promotion existed rarely. The best way to get higher pay is to get another position externally then re-joining US Bank. In my case, I was able to maintain lots of good connections so when some people had openings in their team, they reached out to me.
Have you worked with some of the people at this company making 6 figures?
They couldn't manage a 3rd grade classroom for 45k a year...
A lot of people figured out that if you leave and then come back it's the fastest way to get paid more.
It's pretty well known that legacy employees haven't gotten sh-t for raises, and are paid below industry standard. I've seen many leave, and then return 2-4 pay grades higher 2-3 years later.
@ae your milage must really vary here at USB being as "pretty easy place to work"... I was worked to the point I started having physical health issues before I bailed.
Because they find other companies are awful and work you to the bone for example Wells Fargo. You can work 10 to 12 hours a day and then when it comes to bonus time they tell you that you didn’t accomplish anything. It’s not always greener on the other side, and despite USBank not being competitive and their salaries, it’s a pretty easy place to work.
@OP My sister and I both worked at USB. She took a fully remote job in January with another company, with a big pay cut and she hates it with a passion. The only way she can keep up with the work load is by working 10 hours+ a day and logging in on weekends. She is trying to get back into USB or something else.
Money. And they were willing to bridge my previous 11 years.
It's not because It was so fun I missed it.
