Does stress leave pay anything? I can't afford to quit, but I can't keep going like this either.

or grow up
Short term disability typically covers this in the US. You'll have to use 7 days of PWT first. Once that's exhausted, you can take up to 100% pay for 56 days on disability. You'll need a doctor's note and have to deal with HR
@cq has already said this, but I echo the comments - it's illegal, but this will put you on a list. Everyone I know who has ever taken stress related short term ends up WFR'd in a few months to a year.
I'd use the time to clear the brain, work on resumes, and evaluate if Dell is the right place to continue working.
First of all, do what you really need to take care of yourself. That said, do know that mental leave makes you a target, no matter what all the legally coached managers tell you about mental health being important. I have seen time and time again folks who take a mental health break, disability leave, etc. and management makes their life he-l and puts them on the list once enough time has passed. I know its 2026, but the stigma lives on.
@ah ok boomer
@a3 That’s a quick way to get yourself on the non-severance layoff list!
@ah Go design another tshirt JC.
Let people vent.
Oh Great, another Gen Z "anxiety" nut. Can anyone imagine this generation storming the beaches of Normandy? They'd hide behind their cell phones.
Good God buttercup, su-k it up.
Working hard isn't making your job safer. Remember that nothing you do at Dell matters, this is true of everyone. No one will be telling stories of how you stayed late every day and always delivered projects on time.
As per a quick Google search, "You can use the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for stress, provided your stress is tied to a diagnosed serious mental health condition like clinical anxiety or depression, and you meet basic work eligibility rules."
depends on country - either way go to your GP, Dell is not worth ruining your physical or mental health over. There is always a way to figure things out, a clearer, less stressed head may show you the way
