Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

BNY Stocks

How do I cash out the six BNY stocks we were granted back in 2023?

I clicked transfer but was met with “your cash balance is $41.36. To make more cash available, you’ll need to place a trade”.
Total account value $1033.82

Explain to me like I’m clueless (because I’ve never done this), if I click place a trade, what do I select or click next?

I just want my money.

Click on Portfolio Positions, then click on the link under BNY RSU (mine says Bank of New York Mellon (BNY)).

Click on "Sell". The Trade box will pop up with most of the info prefilled.

Set "Account" to your BNY account. If it doesn't show up in the drop down menu, I think it means you're not eligible to sell yet.

Fill in the number of shares you want to sell.

Set "Order Type" to Market.

Click "Preview Trade" and then submit if all looks good. Once the trade has settled you can transfer the cash out to your bank or another Fidelity account.
