Enrique does not seem to be top brass. I have no idea how this guy failed his way up into CEO of PayPal.

Enrique is about to hand over this company for peanuts and take a nice little payout.

No chance the layoffs are being delayed. There will undoubtedly be more layoffs if stripe takeover.

@am also,.remember what we have been told in the town hall so far, msy be only partly true, stripe first announced interest in April 2026, the deal could be further ahead than we know.. it could be near tht final stages of price agreement, this would make sense on the lack of news or layoffs. If and when the transaction is complete they will then have to be transparent of restructure and transition

Stripe doesn't care, if they buy it they are only interested in one aspect of the business, Branded checkout. And another 2 years in this company is not something I would look forward to..;-)

@aj there is no way they are delaying layoffs for 2 years.

Layoffs and reduced costs makes the company more cost effective and a better buying opportunity

If anything PayPal should be rushing through these cuts to make the company look more appealing for sale

If the sale to Stripe was to go through (which doesn't look like at the moment), it could well be that layoffs might need to be paused/stopped until the whole sale was fully approved, by regulators, etc. Which could take around 2 years...
To don't cause more turmoil within the company, which could be a bad thing for the sale. But who knows.

They have already announced 20% layoffs so this is def happening

If the takeover is successful I would guess there will be even more layoffs company wide
