Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

The grass is greener…

So I am still bitter about my time at USB Business Banking. I was recruited away from my previous employer, a solid place, to work on the Greatest Product Ever Imagined - Business Essentials!! Told the opportunities here were endless! Well wouldn’t you know that after almost 2 years I was part of a RIF…BE was released so why did they need me or most of the others on my team?? (50’s, white woman, everyone left on my team India , but I digress). I’m still pi---d that I was lied to and basically lured away with lies only to be laid off right before Christmas.
I used my network and landed a role before my severance ended, and I was not sad I was laid off. I was pi---d. Anyway, I’m still at that new job, it’s not with a big bank but is in finance, fully remote, and it’s solid and stable.

I guess my point is my bitterness lingers, but after reading about the cr-p you all are enduring here, I’m so glad I was laid off. Despite what you see about the market, there are opportunities! They may be with small, unknown businesses, but they’re out there. Nurture your network. It’s how I landed my new position and I’m convinced it’s how I will land in any future positions.

Sometimes, the grass is greener.

@ak FFS!! Grow a spine and stop being such a coward. The poster does not work for USB anymore and should not care to throw in some more specifics. Maybe that is what you are afraid off? Were you the dum--ss that made his/her life hard at the bank??

@f1 right. And do they really think the bank is going to waste resources to try to prove who it is? Probably not. It would cost them more in lawyers than they would get back in their severance repayment for violating some kind of NDA.

@ak So what? Why would it matter in any way if USB knows OP's identity? What are they gonna do about a post about a RIF on a site about layoffs? Deny it? They already terminated her, there's NOTHING they can do.

@ak and? They don't work at the bank anymore. What, do you think legal is going to waste time over this? Lol

Say it louder for people in the back! I too was misled into taking on massive responsibilities, with no additional pay mind you, with the idea that there was a future and possibilities were unlimited. Fast forward through some lay offs and org restructures it could not be further than the truth. Now I’m a big girl and recognize nothing in life is certain. But I feel used and tossed away, then sent to report to an incompetent leader that see me as a threat versus an ally. I left. I’m not bitter, I’m disappointed that one of the “worlds most ethical companies” plays these games - RKD would never have had it.

@OP don't get too complacent. Nothing in today's world is "solid and stable." Now is the time to build your emergency fund (6 months minimum).

Nothing better to do on a Friday night? BTW, enough details in your post to make it relatively clear as to your identity.
