Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

Still nothing

Enrique just continuing to ruin the mental health of all employees with his absolute lies and gaslighting

This company is criminal

If you're letting people go just do it already and stop talking rubbish

Forcing people to quit by destroying the morale in the whole company

The whole board should be scrapped

@fc package is great! I had a LOT of rejections though so you need to be tough resilient and network. The offer I got was not from a posting. It was a call from a friend that knew I was looking and thinks highly of me. Good luck everyone. I hate PayPal.

@eq I don't use PP at all after I saw the amount of data they are tracking I stopped using it.

@eq was laid off from PayPal in April 2026 after 9 years with them. I refuse to ever use their products again. Venmo isn’t all that and I don’t miss it one bit. I finally landed a new role last month - better comp better leadership better culture - stay patient and move onwards. Everything will get better. Do not for one second let this horrible company make you question your greatness, worth, and potential.

Sc-mbags

Treating people like dirt

Yup. The way they are handling it is absolute disgrace.
They literally treat PEOPLE, their 'most valuable asset' like a dog***t. Hope karma gets them.

For the love of god can they just get it over and done with now.

This is literal gaslighting and a form of torture at this point.

The whole board should be sacked and honestly half of management should be let go along with them.

No1 is doing any work and people are just going off sick.

Did they really think the non stop announcements and hinting of layoffs was gonna motivate people to actually work. It's motivated people to step back and do the absolute bare minimum to get by.

This company is literal he-l to work for now.

The gaslighting is gone beyond a joke. I despise them.

Yeah moral is pretty low and most people give low effort. In really amazed at how they are handling all of this. People are the company’s most valuable resource and they’re treated with little respect. And they are seeing all of this in real time with productivity and efficiency.

@av if you look at the previous ones they always say the number effected and this time they haven't which could mean they told the government and number is withheld for now until the big one starts.

May 2022: PayPal announced 307 redundancies in Ireland — 135 Dublin and 172 Dundalk. The Government publicly stated the number.

March 2023: 62 redundancies were announced when Dundalk closed — 35 Dublin and 27 Dundalk. Again, the number was publicly reported.

February 2024: PayPal announced up to 205 Irish redundancies, and then in June announced another 85, bringing that restructuring to up to 290. The Department was notified and the numbers were reported publicly.

April 2026: The Government confirmed that PayPal had submitted a notification of further collective redundancies, but — crucially — no number was publicly given

@av I read that that notice might actually cover them for the next round if they informed the government that the layoffs would be over a rolling few months but you could be right that another CRN1 notice will be made

The only reason I think not is that they ALWAYS release the total number of jobs lost in that CRN1 notice but that hasn't happened. They haven't actually done a press release saying the total amount from that April CRN1 notice.

Either way more cuts are coming and they should have the respect to get it done already. People have checked out completely now and you will see people go off sick for stress for having this hanging over their heads. I understand layoffs have to happen but how this is been handled is a disgrace

I have zero respect for this company now.

@as No the layoffs mentioned in the media article already happened. The restructuring/re-org and layoffs happening in August 2026 are completely separate and will be an additional notice to the Irish Government if above the thresholds required to notify them.

@as deffo not. if you look at all other layoffs over the years they always announce the total number of layoffs.

They have to submit a CRN1 form to the government advising of which jobs are going and how many. This is normally released as a press statement also which hasn't happened yet as in total number been lost.

This suggests they haven't finished and they simply don't want to release the number until it's actually happening which suggests the number is going to be high

@am so you think the Dublin layoffs were already completed in May?

@ah If you mean this article https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2026/0420/1569216-further-planned-job-cuts-at-paypals-irish-operation/ there was a small number of individuals that were made redundant in April/May from various teams/roles (WFM being one)

When do people genuinely think we will get our "at risk" emails/meeting invites?

As others have said..., the Irish government were informed in April.... CEO said "In the coming weeks"...that was 2 weeks ago

They informed the Govt in Ireland in April as they need to let the Govt know if more then 30 people or 10%. Since then no news. I think everyone checked out already as the lists are drawn up months ago anyway. Personally I couldn't care less, fire me, keep me...don't care. However the disrespect is just unbelievable, if they can't respect me as a person, I'm not respecting PP either, and that means I don't respect my Job. Login, wait and log out....that's it......

I thought the last CEO, Alex, was fired for his slow turnaround and poor management. Also, he drove the stock price into the ground. Well, Enrique is not looking much better. The guy has literally done nothing since his start like 5 months ago. He’s been on the Board for a long time so he wouldn’t need to get “up to speed” like most outsider CEO’s. Another bad hire?

@a2 exactly I think everyone has checked out even lower management like team leaders and managers seem to have lost all interest in their jobs now.

It's a constant threat hanging over everyone's heads and its never ending.

Rinse and repeat

But this current debacle is a literal disgrace. They are just playing chicken now messing with people's mental health

Sickening

It’s just crazy, how employees are left completely in the dark, just let people know already. This has been going on for years, people not knowing if they have a job or not.
I know it’ll all be over in a couple of weeks but then it starts right back up again in January!

The morale is on the floor, I know I’m totally checked out of my job, I do the bare minimum because I know they don’t give a sh-t about us. Just give me my paycheque every month please.
