Important change on how you access Webex

Keeping our data and systems secure means evolving how we work, including how we access tools like Webex. With this in mind, Webex will now follow Cisco's Trusted Device Standard and only be accessible from Cisco-trusted devices.

What to expect:
This change will roll out in phases, beginning August 31 and continuing through September. Once it takes effect, you'll be automatically signed out of Webex on all your devices. Simply sign back in on a Cisco-trusted device, such as your Cisco laptop. Going forward, you can only sign in to Webex using a Cisco-trusted device.
If you're using Android, you'll need to use the Webex app in your work profile.

Why this matters:
Adding Webex to our trusted device standard gives us an extra layer of protection for more sensitive data and helps pave the way for new Al capabilities to enhance your Webex experience.

tldr; you wont be able to use Webex on your personal phone without installing Cisco spyware that severely limits your phones usability for security reasons

Would an android phone better in this case than iOS for Cisco MDM?

@ar the White House. And most of all the government agencies. So, yeah, I guess a few places think it's solid and secure.

Cisco can buy me a work phone.

I think they should take it one step further — just ban personal phones from joining Webex meetings altogether. 😂

Many of my coworkers take calls on their phone when they’re not near their laptop, so this is just another tactic to micromanage us and get us back into office. Just shut Webex down and switch to Slack ffs.

They probably want to make sure people can't take screenshots or copy work material from Webex before they get laid off. They've already caught people taking photos of things like sales presentations and marketing plans. A managed version of Webex can actually disable screenshots and copying.

That seems stupid anyway. I honestly can't think of any Cisco work product that's valuable enough to bother taking. Most of that stuff has very little value anywhere.

this is going to worsen my productivity as i will now miss things and reminders but definitely not letting my personal device get managed still. cisco can deal with the productivity loss

Time to buy a $59.99 Wal-Fa-t cheapo burner phone for just for Webex and CiscoAI Borg assimilation. Just wifi hotspot it off of your iphone. Hail and conform.
