Today was the RUMORED targeted cur back day. (Yes I know its been going on for months).

If those that get cut feel up to it, can you add to this post if its so?

@bb PowerMax hit badly. PowerScale some. Lab support in RR AI labs. Undoubtedly others, those are the ones I know.

@bj thank you I totally agree and am already feeling what you are describing, not without concern but the stress has already subsided!

@bc Best wishes my friend. The stress relief you will feel is hard to describe.

Other challenges may await...but your Sundays won't be ruined wondering what Monday brings.

@b6 If you're getting the axe, HR won't be on the invite. They just pop in right at the start of the meeting.

What about products?

ISG is vast.

PowerEdge, PowerScale, PowerStore etc etc.

I am going to guess VxRail and I am also going to guess that PowerEdge wasn't touched.

Can someone say where in ISG were the layoffs?

Was it development, product management, presales etc.

Thank you.

@b1

I'm the OP.

Yes, that was the rumor even a few months ago. (ISG hit hard as well as Consumer).

@b6 my manager is on leave today… do they do layoffs without manager presence? Or wait for manager to come back?

I got my 1x1 moved up. No HR person. ISG is being hit hard today, whole teams in US wiped.

@aw There was no HR on the line when I was laid off. Only my manager reading a script and telling me not to interrupt until he was done. Email from HR followed that afternoon. This is how it has gone down for most.

@at

Its only workday one for August...can only have so many HR executioner available each day.
Each meeting takes up 30 minutes. Thats 48 "potential" meetings in a day for an HR position (not individual, just position).

The math is fuzzy, due to we dont know how many HR headcount is involved.

But I think it has to be substantial.

Maybe that's Dells safest career path. A Firing Person vs a Horing Person?

But you get the gist.

@aj So you are saying no layoffs today?

Got it.

Trolls come in all forms.

Positive & Negative.

@ah they don't. I have twelve 30 minute meetings on my calendar today and twenty-two tomorrow and I'm not laying anyone off or being laid off. More troll fear mongering

It really hit Medium Business last week.

The last couple of years, August has seen a lot of changes.
