Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Connect su-ks! It’s been poorly managed since the inception- current leadership doesn’t know how to fix things, and all they do is bring in Consultants and transform/reorg AGAIN!!! Leaving this place was the best thing that could have happened!

@aw oh goodness. First of all, no business owner is saying “telematics” lmao. That’s not what they know the product by. They would refer to as, “oh Verizon offers fleet management, asset tracking, and dash cams?” Telematics is technical jargon used by internal sales people. Businesses in distribution and supply chain, transportation, government, and construction verticals are 1000% familiar with fleet management software companies. They know Verizon as a cell phone carrier. And the fact that you just said your sales process for a sophisticated SaaS product is nothing more than “oh yeah Verizon offers telematics services and we are the biggest company in the world so clearly more trust worthy. You see us on TV for the iPhone commercials all the time so brand recognition am I right?” Wouldn’t even bother going into industry specific challenges, asking about their current workflows and conducting a needs analysis, or seeing if there is a viable business case with ROI and good product market fit for the use case…..nope. Your sales process “we’re Verizon though. Everyone knows us for the smartphones and tablets and can you hear me now guy from the 2000s.” You have friends at Samsara? Maybe on today’s episode of things that never happened.

@ae I’M in VBG dummy. And a lot of customers arent familiar with telematic companies. I have friends that work in samsara and believe me the pay difference isint much to midmarket. A lot of the stuff you see in sites is skewed data that is usually over inflated numbers. You might get more base in samsara but the ote and verizon’s will balance out the end of year’s total gross. And lastly, go to any business owner out there and ask them if they are familiar with telematics giants. You’ll see a higher % morw familiar with the brand name of verizon than samsara. “Oh Verizon does telematics”? I rather sign with them since they seem more trust worthy” it’s just a brand name the mass is more familiar with. And fun fact connect is the biggest competitor of samsara. That’s even coming from people that work there

@ad I’m sorry but you’re sorely mistaken……..go to repvue.com and search salaries for samsara, motive, the OTE difference for mid market is 40k lol. Also quota attainment is higher for both motive and samsara. Verizon is not a giant name in the country for telematics 😭 Motive and samsara are. Just bc verizon is one of the big 3 in cell phone carriers that in no way translates to people getting their fleet management through us lol. You 100% are in no way affiliated with VBG you gotta be VCG. And retail at that.

@a1 The pay gap between other telematics and verizon connect isint far apart. And verizon is a giant name in the country. You have a fat pool of customers to fish from. Existing verizon wiresless customers, other wireless customers, other telematics. The options are limiteless. It's easier to hit OTE here than in a different company + the company benefits is still one of the best.

I have no idea why people stay at Verizon Connect so long. I understand if you’re using it to get your foot in the SaaS door but after you have 1-2 experience hitting quota why not apply at Samsara or Motive? Literally double the OTE of working for Verizon Connect. There’s so many telematics companies out there paying substantially more with a much better product as well. You don’t even have to stay in telematics can literally hop to any other more reputable technology company selling SaaS. Can someone actually tell me why people would want to stay for years and years at Verizon connect? Maybe I’m just ignorant on the whole thing
