Is in the sorriest state I've seen it in decades. We are literally regressing. Sh-t is being rolled out with misunderstood requirements and no user testing. You'd think with all the ridiculous money we're spending on AI tokens and credits we be...idk, coding? Making things easier?

I enjoyed Risk, I enjoyed being out spoken and calling out problems, always offering solutions, the business appreciated my candor, my management did not. I was taken to the side and told by my manager to “just play the game”. I did not and now I am out. The good news is I am happy I did not just “play the game”. Anyone that is worth their salary left Risk a long time ago. What remains is what you have.
What was the thought when Saul said the bank needed to modernize QA processes by replacing it with code?
Did he not realize that legacy code can't really be easily automated into release pipelines, or that no one wants to work on code bases that are garbage?
This all could have been avoided. Too bad leadership couldn't predict before COVID that we would have AI tools that could have help replace old systems for the fraction of the cost.
We could have built our own PAC2000 with a handful of engineers. Instead they spent years and millions of dollars to migrate into service now, and this garbage barely works.

I actually called out a newly promoted manager who got the corp headshot complete with dark blue backlit background, suit, 3/4 head shot, and smarmy smile they all have. Told him on teams nice teeth and congrats on joining the collective.
He didn't quit get that last remark.

Risk can’t challenge anymore so they say something but can’t get anything done. They are “independent” but required to partner with the business so what does that get you? Business doesn’t listen…. Then you drop it. They moved oversight of tech risk to the tech - you expect them to say anything about risk? Ha.
When I'm really bored, I like to go to teamworks and randomly select someone in risk to see how many managers they report to. Four is most common. Five is my highest so far but I know there's more. It's fun because the more layers of management the more glamour shot/tailored headshot they have. Risk in management is so bloated. The doers are fewer and farther between, but ripe with managers.

@bf You actually GET IT!! Been saying this for years. It's a heavily regulated bank with OTHER people's money. Not some startup that is selling the newest and coolest loafers. How in the he-l a major bank gets by with almost no testing and regulators don't give a damn is beyond me.
The whole let’s be agile and release the MVP fast is cool when you are pushing out snapchat releases or something else that no one really needs. But when you have to release actual products that people rely on and do important things with it’s another story. The cutsey move fast and break things doesn’t work. Too bad WF went all in on this. Good work takes time and experience. Can’t get around that.
@b0 they laid off all the testing leaks. In our space, they laid off the only tester who knew one of the tools. In addition, leadership isn't engaging with anyone, they're just issuing commands to get it done faster, and screaming at people if it doesn't happen.
Who's dropping the ball? Why isn't this getting flagged in testing or called out by risk?
