Uhhh PayPal hasn’t filed WARN notices (US-based). They have to be filed 90 days before layoffs. So what the he-l did Enrique’s message mean - that they’re filing WARN within the next few weeks?

@b5 agreed, I asked them last redundancy if I can go and someone else stays as I had no interest anymore, they declined. I guess they hoped I leave on my own....;-)
@bh he said, next few weeks, however he also said they start with the reorg end of August, beginning of Sept, which fits the 4 weeks notice period. I expect news this week.
Can anyone pls recap the tech allhands today? Unfortunately missed it.
Just to clarify (since I watched the entire town Hall last week) at the very end (management didn't post the entire video on Exchange) Enrique did say "next week will be a tough week for everyone"
Next week = the week of Aug 3.
On a separate note, many upper level managers keep repeating that the reorg is happening mid August.
Did they say 4-6week during the technology all hand didn’t hear properly ?
@b3 100% agree with this.
They are wearing down people's mental reserves and hoping they quit. They are literal pieces of sh-t. Sc-mbags
Don't quit, don't give in. Make them pay you out 💪
This is a POS company and they are trying to get employees to leave on their own to avoid severance.
I knew a recruiter friend laid off from PayPal last year and he told me they almost never have to file WARN in California because often you are in payroll through x days after they lay you off. Because you are on payroll a bit despite being laid off they do not have to file warn prior to the call. Hope that makes sense
It's psychological warfare at this point. Just constantly talking about reduction of workforce and difficult weeks ahead but never actually making any announcements for layoffs. Just fu--ing with people now.
They are a bunch of sc-mbags. Just get it over with already. All these announcements of workforce reductions continually.
They are like the boy who cried wolf over and over again.
Never mind working for them I'll NEVER use them as a company again.
You’re interpreting the law incorrectly. A WARN notice is a not required by law and in the event that a company opts to not file a WARN notice they are subject to specific criteria to pay workers. Example is in CA if they opt to not file a notice, they’re required to pay impacted employees 60 days of pay. Traditionally companies will use this as the floor for “severance” to workaround the filing notice.
Possibly below the threshold in USA and it is mainly aimed at Europe and other jurisdictions.
You may be safe for now then, unless they only need to file if laying off over a certain percentage? and the impacts will be below that percentage ?
In Ireland they filed in April....
@OP yes I checked this also which leads me to believe maybe the next round of layoffs will not be USA based. Maybe they will be India, Ireland, Mexico etc.
I really think they are fu--ing with people to make people quit. Less money to be spent then on letting people go.
