Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

New hires don't stand a chance

I can't tell you how many fresh college grads I've watched join Nike and flame out within three months. They're hired to do a job that was invented by someone with years of experience, given next to no training, and then thrown into the fire with sky-high expectations. The result is always the same. I really feel bad for them. And I wonder if anyone in charge has realized yet that firing experienced people and replacing them with rookies might not have been the genius move they thought it was.

Why are we hiring? We have so much overhead that it’s embarrassing. Reduce services…do something! Some teams add no value and could be gone today without anyone missing a beat. Do better! Do something. This place is an embarrassment with leadership that only exists as a result of self preservation.

Nonsense, Nike is a great place to work if you lack moral character.

Unfortunately, HR lacks the budget to resume conducting their in-person recruitment events at RNC.

Indian work visa twits can basically sit on the toilet or do next to nothing all day long without punishment or quitting though. Since Nike and Oregon are preferable to India if you aren't rich.

The turnover in my org has been very high since April reorg. People leaving this sinking ship. Even some of the interns have expressed how much of a sh-tshow this place is and that they wouldn’t accept a return offer if given. You know it’s bad when interns don’t even wanna work here.

The turnover insane and a majority of those that are left are actively looking to get the he-l out. It’s toxic. I’m waiting for more to file EEOC complaints that will be exposed how widespread the issue is and how much HR covers up for people in positions that hold power.

@bh

HR has the actuals. Easy to track with automated workday reports / dashboards.

they wont publish it as it is likely a material event that needs to be included for MD&A in SEC filings.

Same reason the employee survey results (the real results) are covered up. low trust in leadership is coming up as no1 year after year since 23

@b4 where’d you get this statistic? “ Turnover is crossing 65% now for PHK over the last 6 years.”

It’s always been sink or swim with no lifeguards around…

That is by design.

SLT only wants to keep thing stable as long as possible while cashing in their bonuses and incentives.

Fire experienced people who know the ship is sinking, get doe eyed rookies and than blame them for not performing.

Turnover is crossing 65% now for PHK over the last 6 years. No leadership pipeline or institutional knowledge remains and it is by design.

Nike has nothing apart from the brand
