Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Does anyone here know anything about the Capital Markets’ Portfolio Solutions Group?

I’m trying to understand what the actual purpose of that group is and what the experience has been for people who’ve been part of it for a while.

Recently, Risk Management was added under that umbrella, but there hasn’t been any clear explanation why. Of course, we’ve heard the usual “happy” messages like: “lucky us,” “everything will stay the same,” “everything will be alright”, but it doesn’t really seem that way.

If anyone has insight into what’s going on or how this group operates internally, I’d really appreciate hearing your perspective.

It was called the “value portfolio”. As others mentioned, this group usually houses EOL products that will not receive any capex investment. The plan is usually sunset or divest.

I don't know what it would mean for you if you're part of operations/tech in Risk Management, but from a financial perspective, this group houses all products that don't see any capex investment, only opex. You could say that the company no longer views the products in this group as strategically important enough to invest in them, but they still generate enough cash from their existing customer base that it makes no sense to shut it down.

@ba Look him up. Easy to find. Interesting how layoff rates increased after he joined. Just sayin.

Very good and reasonable people, I can say. The focus is on really doing things, rather than bullsh-t. We joined a couple of years ago, and the CTO is very smart and reasonable, with no unrealistic expectations. I am happy there.
