CVX - Special Bonus

HOUSTON, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Chevron will award employees a special bonus for operational ‌results so far this year, following the ‌U.S. oil producer's record earnings report on Friday that was boosted by high oil prices from the ongoing war in Iran.

In an internal email on Monday that was seen by Reuters, CEO Mike Wirth praised Chevron staffers ‌for meeting cost-reduction targets, achieving deal synergies from the Hess acquisition ahead of schedule and operating safely amid geopolitical upheaval this year in Venezuela and the Middle East

Just wait for the standard HR response that our compensation is highly competitive based on the benchmarks that they make up. It’s the normal lies, lies, deceit and lies

It may not be soon enough, but the pressure DW has brought upon himself with these petty “cost cutting” actions will come back to bite him. Even though the stock price is doing well, he has adversely impacted the Corp with his arrogant attitude. The Board will have no choice but to replace him and Amman will get his seat faster than anyone thought…. If Amman is smart, he’ll take a quick win by getting employees on his side. Just watch as this plays out in the next 12-18 months.

We won’t get bonuses because our trading arm is miserably bad. This, earnings are lagging compared to peers Majors.

Crazy how we are all contributing to the bottom line however only the top 20% gets rewarded RSUs that are 3 and 7 years from now. Seems like they should develop a cash bonus incentive, raises have been sh$t with reductions across the board. Show me you care about the employee without telling me??

Beatings from DW and his henchmen will continue until morale improves…or you quit, whichever comes first. But hey, just remember, the people of XOM is the greatest company asset

If anyone here deserves bonus, it’s only BTC and KLTC. Greedy HC10 are already overcompensated, they should get salary cuts.

DW can't even be bothered to do Employee forums anymore, gives you an idea how much he cares about employees. You think he is going to authorize a bonus?

Good for Chevron, and also good on them for having the ba--s to do a layoff versus the cowards approach taken by DW

Exxon su-ks big time. You know DWW will get a big bonus but he hates us and wants us all to leave. You got to love the what you delivered stories for the Quarterly earnings but we don’t reap the benefits

CVX at least did it clean — they didn’t hide the layoffs. They cut 15–20% of their global workforce in one shot and owned it. Meanwhile XOM keeps trimming 5–10% every single year, but instead of calling it a layoff they label it a “performance issue.” When a company quietly removes people through NSI/PIP cycles instead of transparent restructuring, it’s obvious they’re going to be stingier when it comes to rewarding employees too. You can’t run a constant stealth layoff machine and then pretend you’re generous on the upside.

Mike Wirth sends out a company wide email issuing a special bonus.

DW send out a company wide email encouraging employees to contribute their own money to EM Political Action Committee.
