If your manager also don't know anything about layoffs and if you are on that list, then both needs to start preparing your CVs

My manager didn’t seem to have much of a clue, at least based on what he told me. He seemed nervous too.

Not sure why he’s holding up FY26 performance appraisals; it’s already late. Must’ve got some direction from up above to wait for some green light.

Your post makes no sense. If neither you or your manager knows anything, then how would either of you know to start working on your CVs?
