Is this a certainty or still just a rumor?

@s0 Ironic. You claim to have a bead on what all your coworkers are working on and how well they are doing it.
And now you claim to have a bead on how technical an anonymous internet person is based on a non technical discussion.
I see the start of a pattern here…
You be you. And if you want to have a tech off I’m your huckleberry…
@rr It doesn't show.
@q0 the funny thing is that the one you think isn't technical is actually very technical :)
Developers also use the work of their colleagues. So they learn quickly who does good, reliable work and who does not.
You may be misunderstanding each other because one of you is technical and the other is not.
@gy AD HOMINEM ATTACK!
I spend my time doing my job not reviewing other peoples work.
@g6 can I have the #5, hold the bacon bits, dressing on the side?
@fr if you work in a team with people who are reporting on their work every day and you're reviewing some of it, it's impossible not to know how well a job they're making of it. You sound like you've never had a job
Deep dives huh? The SAS is strong with this one. 🙄
SAS reduces headcount in five ways:
1) Buyouts, as in 2018, 2021, and 2025.
2) Formally announced layoffs, like the one in June.
3) Unannounced "stealth layoffs": a few people every month or so.
4) Attrition: people leaving for another job, replaced by cheaper people, or not replaced at all.
5) Incentivized attrition: people "pushed out", e.g. required to take a severance package or a demotion.
Another big layoff this year would be a surprise, because the company just laid off ~3%. But SAS has been reducing headcount by 2-3% annually since 2018, and there is no reason to expect this to change.
@dt my reading comprehension is fine. You made it pretty clear that your layed off coworkers were performing well which very much infers that you were doing deep dives into their day routines, task completions, etc. Hard to do the managers jobs and your own job both well. Unless you are one of the specials that can do many jobs equally well at once.
@c5 reading comprehension eludes you, apparently.
@c2 sounds like you were spending way too much much time keeping track of your coworkers tasks, progress, etc and probably not doing your actual job.. prime target.
There will be layoffs every month. They just won't be announced. I find myself getting nervous around the 15th and 30th of every month. I guess this is how it is now.
No, there's nothing lacking in my performance. But there wasn't anything lacking in the people I worked with who were laid off recently either. Their only fault was having stayed here too long apparently.
@OP yes, a rumor started by this thread.
When you need to know something, you will be informed. Stay engaged with official communication channels for updates.
@OP I suppose it depends on the rumors. I’ve not heard them. What have you heard? From what sources?
