Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

State of Disunion @TheTrustedDisruptor

  1. Loans taken to cover payroll. All that LHXNext savings still can't stop the debt created implosion.
  2. Accelerating the full transformation into the ENRON of the defense industry.
  3. 160 hours vacation and sick combined cap being enforced in certain businesses. Director level approval required above 160 hours combined.
  4. Auto rejection of planned sick or vacation leave if not provided with enough advance notice. Override requires manager and second level approval.
  5. Rolling layoffs still occurring.
  6. Stock price down $70 from recent high of around $370. Currently around $300.
  7. Insider selling accelerating.
  8. RTO harassment still occurring even with commuting costs skyrocketing due to fuel spikes.
  9. Outsourced IT company not getting paid due to cash flow issues. Leads to more service outages and lack of support.
  10. Morale has hit a new low. Parking lots emptying rapidly after 5 PM. Only time I've ever seen people leave faster was after a 4 hr college chemistry lab was over.

Please comment with additional information regarding the state of dysfunction @ L3H

Rumor is layoffs will occur ALL sites/sectors/functional areas between 8/31 - 9/11 with a 5% total reduction. SMS seems to get week 1 with a target date of 9/2 for most sites. CSD seems to get week 2 with a target date of 9/9 for most sites. Lots of managers were notified yesterday. Biggest impacted locations seem to be Clifton, Camden (NJ), Salt Lake City, Rochester, Greenville, and Brevard county especially Corporate campus and Palm Bay.

Praying for everyone whether or not we are retained or let go we are all impacted negatively by The Trusted Disruptor.

GOD BLESS YOU!

There is an old an adage from the oil industry which is applicable to L3H:

"A growing company has a geologist as its CEO, a mature company has an engineer, a withering company has an accountant, and a failing company has a lawyer."

That famous industry adage highlights how leadership backgrounds often shift as a company matures, moving from discovery-focused exploration to operational efficiency, financial management, and finally risk mitigation or crisis management.

Key Phases of the Adage:

Geologist: Focuses on finding new resources and future growth.
Engineer: Focuses on building systems and getting oil out efficiently.
Accountant: Focuses on cutting costs and managing cash flow.
Lawyer: Focuses on rules, lawsuits, and survival.

For those who don't know the backgrounds of L3H CEOs:

Engineer = BB
Accountant = CK
Lawyer = SM

L3H will collapse under the "leadership" of SM!

Welcome to Sam's Club!

The unofficial greeting for our customers!

L3H has disrupted itself into a new business model. One where SM will elevate incompetence to a leadership position since they are members of Sam's Club.

I wonder how fast SM will take to completely crash L3H and trigger massive corruption investigations.

My guess under 1 year at the pace he is going.

https://www.techtimes.com/articles/324696/20260817/l3harris-fires-ceo-kubasik-over-conduct-violation-names-mehta-successor-immediately.htm

Looks like his wife was getting ready to give Chris a whooping!

Article highlights!

Lead independent director Hay offered the company's public statement: "The Board and Chris have agreed that implementing our succession plan today is the right thing to do. We thank him for his service." The deliberate use of "succession plan" — rather than "termination" or "investigation outcome" — is the language of managed corporate communication designed to minimize market disruption.

Second Departure, Same Pattern
This is not the first time Kubasik has left a major defense contractor following a board-directed ethics investigation.

The 14-year arc from Lockheed Martin to L3Harris — two no-severance ethics exits from two of America's most significant defense primes — is without modern precedent in the industry.

Mehta:

He holds a Juris Doctor and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor's degree from Stonehill College.

MSL IPO:

The Axyv IPO carries a structural deadline: the Department of War's $1 billion convertible preferred security investment in the Missile Solutions business converts to equity upon a qualified IPO, with a deadline of December 31, 2027, after which redemption terms take effect, per theDoW investment closing announcement
. Mehta inherits that timeline.

@dsr SM decided to skip the townhall and attend a more important meeting which CK allegedly told him about on short notice.

It's probably a good thing since his absence prevented him from offending and demoralizing the employees even further. It also helps him with his "sustainment awards" since people didn't quit L3H right after hearing him speak yesterday.

El Nino was left holding the bag and did his best to blow hot air all over the place. Gave some of his friends a shout out and told everyone the business is strong and growing!

El Nino reiterated the following points:
Execute
Bill
Collect cash
AI success stories

No discussion on the real issues:
Workforce attrition
Contract cancellations
Unrealistic corporate financial goals

Didn't leave time for any questions or discussion.

Ended the meeting feeling just great about the future of L3H!

SM will be in Clifton tomorrow and Camden (NJ) the day after for a townhall. Don't worry MSL team.. He won't be "talking to you." We on the other hand will be blessed with a no charge code mandatory meeting with our Dear Leader.

SMS folks.. when is the next layoff scheduled?

Layoffs the next day like after his first townhall with us from Greenville?

I'm already feeling a little Christmas jingle with fall in the air.

SM is making a list, and checking it twice. Going to find out who is never onsite. SM is coming to town!

PSA:

Always remember to keep your office free of your personal items. If you are caught in a layoff, you will NOT be given time to get your personal items as they walk you out.

@c2m definitely self destructing!

Turnover = employee leaves and is replaced

Voluntary Attrition = employee voluntary resignation or retirement and NO replacement

Involuntary Attrition = layoffs or firing of employees and NO replacement

VA is approximately 20% currently and rising.

Less employees and more work = profit margin expansion, less employee compensation, and more shareholder value.

Get out of L3H or you will be an abused and overworked employee to generate more shareholder value!

Q2 numbers released.

Financial engineering galore.

Truth Bombshell from CK's lips on the call.

MISSILE IPO delayed until mid-2027 due to market conditions that do not fully capture the value L3H is building with their IPO.

HAHAHA!

Does this mean L3H defrauded the government of their 1 billion investment in Missiles? The IPO was scheduled for the second half of this year per the agreement with the government.

Why the delay with record Missile component demand?

Maybe that's why the stock dropped 4% after the earnings call.

@ay9 L3H management strategy and LHXNext steps:

  1. Identify a current stable working process/organization.
  2. Create a problem to disrupt the stability identified in step 1.
  3. Blame others for problems introduced by executing step 2.
  4. Layoff primarily DL employees while increasing IDL employees and incentives aka "management incentives"
  5. Cash those executive bonus checks due to "solving" the problem.
  6. Wait for a new Trusted Disruptor opportunity to arise!
  7. Repeat all steps again.

At this point, I'm convinced SM is probably using the Star Wars movies for product and organizational strategy guidance.

Layoff employees for immediate cost savings or try to grow the business?

@8tx Let me try and understand the latest organizational announcement from SM.

AS was VP of engineering and programs for SMS. He is now president of I&C. The shoes of a 31 year old VP who was in the role for about half a year were too big to fill by one person...

SM is going to split the VP of engineering and programs role into 2 roles.

  1. VP of engineering - reporting to EZ who is VP, Engineering, Tech & Innovation
    1. VP of programs - reporting to DZ who is VP, Operations & Program Excellence

A VP reporting to another VP with the same/similar role/title!

This functional idiocy and redundancy is so meh in the grand scheme of things... only SM and CK could think this is a good idea.

It's a good thing I used AI today!

LHXGPT taught me something new and totally inspirational!

You can't spell Mehta without "meh"!

Why this nudge?

This nudge was created by L3H based on: Shenanigan(s) as a priority.
This intelligent nudge drives improvement of this organizational focus area: Fake it until you make it.

@4an AS introduced himself to the IC team about 3 weeks ago.

Highlights:

He loves rollercoasters!
He wants to generate excitement for the executives about IC!
He wants to give us more opportunities to have fun with family and coworkers using the discretionary funding budget (e.g. zoo day)!

He displayed his vast engineering aptitude by explaining the success and lessons learned from his first real engineering job project... he designed a box for a system and verified his CAD model and everything was great until a lowly technician told him it would not work and would not fit into the installation area on the system.. he challenged the technician and the technician proved him wrong by showing him the installation site (i.e. a hole in the system for the box)... AS has a BS in mechanical engineering and a MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He failed to design a form, fit and function subsystem...

We are about to find out what he can do his MBA and business acumen!

During Q&A:
What qualifies you for your new leadership role?
AS replied he was excited about the opportunity and his excitement alone was the basis for his selection!

No plans to sell off IC or parts of IC at this time!

IC HR Director confirmed no combined 160 hour cap on vacation and sick policy!

My personal and team's engagement and excitement is off the charts!

A new hope has arrived in the form of a 31 year old President of IC!

Since the AS introduction about 3 weeks ago, IC sector budgets were cut by executive leadership. Funding and personnel rerouted to support failing IC programs. Talent is rolling off to other programs/sectors as well. IRADs paused or shutdown indefinitely. Layoffs rumors heating up inside and outside of IC sector. Reorganization rumors heating up due to sale/IPO of former Aerojet businesses.

Corporate HR just threw their Hail Mary Pass... "Career Days" this week to help with career growth and progression and sent out a list of high priority open staffing requisitions!

I guess all that "rationalizing" and desired attrition is finally catching up!

Buckle up buttercup!

The IC and L3H rollercoasters might be "going off the rails on a crazy train!"

Cue up Randy Rhoads epic guitar solo!!

@50v Looks like AS wasted no time to get a HR director to send out employee referral bonus information. Bonus up to 30K!

Looks like the Trusted Disruptor has an attrition problem and AI can't fix it? I mean they told us we would be replaced by AI. Why not deploy an AI agent to solve this staffing and/or productivity problem?

"The best talent knows where to find the best talent."

HAHA!

All the best talent is leaving in droves. And no one here is going to refer anyone with top talent who we respect or trust to L3H. Someone's relative, friend or drinking buddy sure!

Give the executives what they have always wanted: A young, diverse, low wage, new college grad, uneducated, unskilled, inexperienced, talentless and/or non-degreed work force!

@50p AS will definitely get a lot of business experience in I&C. Too bad he doesn't have the skills to turn it around. He is going to meet everyone and learn about the customers and teams soon. AKA I'm in over my head and don't know what is going on somebody save me type of situation.

CK and SM ONLY care about the $$$ NOT national security. I&C will be split up and sold off in pieces to generate revenue and so AS can keep his job. They already got rid of older talent with the layoffs. Everything gets harder now to keep I&C from sinking at its current rate.

@2t1 Covid proved L3H leadership did not care about anything but $$$. Did not clean facilities, lied about cleaning, forced RTO on "critical programs" then sent everyone home after 2 days since someone got sick. Repeat this failed cycle every 2 to 3 weeks. We had multiple people go to the ER in an ambulance straight from the "clean" facilities. I believe a few deaths as well.

My only regret during covid is I did not leave L3H when there was a hiring bo-m across the defense industry. I TRUSTED L3H leadership to keep the remote/hybrid option as long as I was a top performer. L3H has been a major DISRUPTOR of my life ever since the end of peak covid.

I'm not really bitter about this anymore. I'm just making my plans quietly to disrupt the Trusted Disruptor when I resign for a better opportunity!

The 160 hours sick plus vacation is not uniform across L3H. Not even uniform across GVL. Some have 200 combined, some have 160 vacation plus 40 sick and you can use vacation for sick but not sick for vacation.

Everyone back in the office right? Not uniformly. Some work remotely far from GVL and NEVER come in. Some might be in every couple months. Some are local but just come in when they need to. Most are here every day.

With the lack of communication it is hard to know what is going on outside your small group.
