Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Fiserv isn't just losing its edge

It's losing its reason. It used to be a way of life, then a career, then a job. Now it's just an insecure paycheck. The current management seems focused on running it into the ground, and nobody's fighting to save it. Watching a once-great company circle the drain is brutal.

Merchant is the only thing investors care about, and that’s zero to do with old Fiserv.

The solution is we go back to the approach of original Fiserv and prioritize making software that can easily be vibe coded in today’s world.

Mgt is trying to do enough to get their windfall. Then they will move on to the next stop and repeat.

We should go back to the original Fiserv model of primarily selling software that can be easily vibecoded today.

@af Is that a First Data thing? I know we had some in original Fiserv but not like this!
Speaking of hiring h1b contractors, anyone know what’s up with matt F. He’s on workday but nowhere to be found.

@a5 they replaced workers with H1B1. That's contributing to it partly

Trying to save the company would be insubordination. We need to follow management's direction and drive the company straight into the ground as best as we can!

I think Management forgot that it takes talented employees to actually get things done. Instead they stopped giving raises, cut benefits, RIFed people and instituted policies that people hated causing them to leave (badge swipe tracking, RTO, etc.).

All they seemed to be focused on is the stock and their personal bonus. It is really sad.

Agreed it should go back to what it was before the merger: a provider of second-tier software that could easily be vibecoded today.
