Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Another week, another completely wrong presence report.

How is this STILL happening? This should be one of the easiest things imaginable to get right... you’ve only had YEARS to figure it out…. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the incompetence.

We’re being told five-day RTO is important enough to monitor and enforce, while the system they’re using to monitor it can’t even produce an accurate report.

And we’re supposed to trust this data enough for it to impact employees? What a fu-k!ng joke.

Our supervisor said they’re looking at time sheets again, too. Why should a faulty system decide if we get cut?

I’m still virtual (most of my team isn’t) , but I am not hearing chatter on our regular calls around this anymore, where is used to dominate the discussion. I just think the VP and Director are no longer really paying attention to it.

My manager sent me a note stating that my in-office average was 7.75 hours for the previous month. I sent him a shot of my earlier presence report numbers of over 9 hours per day. I quit within two months.

I apparently went to work bright and early last week to work exactly 0.3 hours.

My favorite beyond the predictable inaccuracy, is that if you go to a meeting and you can’t badge into the meeting (customer location, conference, etc.) it shows you didn’t badge in and your overall average is lower. Not even a way to code that you are working offsite. HR and data whoever fail.

How is it that I’m missing a full week of data? WTF!?

The report treats all days equally.

If you work a few hours on a Saturday, it will drop your daily avg for the entire month.

Send in the clowns.

How are they still employed. If I presented a product so shoddy for years, I’d be gone. And rightfully so.

It missed two and a half days on mine. I always give it one week and see if it fixes itself It usually does. Though I’ve never had it this messed up before. We’ll. See.

It’s by design to underreport, thereby ensure you will put in 9-10hrs just to be compliant. I see people doing that around me all the time.

Jay&Co is a total failure. He should be placed on a PIP.

Don’t worry folks, no doubt they are using this faulty report to stack rank you for the next layoff.

@a6 exactly why its foolish. If some one is therr 8 hours and 30 mins call it as is. No need to to say 8.5.. that's in my opinion lame

"They are reporting 8.5 hours or 8.4 hours.. that's a percentage"

No it's not. It's measuring time in tenths, equal to six minute increments. Hour meters on power equipment and machinery usually work the same way.

The report is still wildly inaccurate for other reasons.

Yup. I actually have no data from last week at all. Why did I even bother wasting all that time and money going into the office if I won’t even get credit for it? F-U stink!

Anyone who translates time, an absolute value to percentage cannot be a smart dude. They are reporting 8.5 hours or 8.4 hours.. that's a percentage... why would anyone do that? That alone should tell you that the report is a joke
