President Trump is ending Medicare D subsidies at the end of the year. What happens then? It’ll push the largest Medicare D population to Medicare Advantage - the national product.

@zj there is a reason everyone is getting out of the MA space- and HCSC goes in Whole hog and overpays.
@OP you’re describing the exact opposite of what will happen. MA has higher OOP and less cost-certainty so once the perks are eliminated (dental, gym memberships) the value proposition will change.
@nx old H7 is probably one of the id--ts in strategy. Terrifying thought that this bozo is possibly working on the HS product.
Your response was perfect and accurate.
@h7 No it's not. They can also have RX coverage through the VA, or opt not to get coverage at all. Yes, if they go more than 63 days without creditable coverage, they would have a Late Enrollment Penalty if they later opt for a Medicare Part D plan or a MA plan with Part D coverage (unless they have LIS) but Medicare enrollees cannot be forced to obtain dr*g coverage.
@h7 there is no requirement for pharmacy coverage on Medicare.
All Medicare members must have Part D coverage either through Medicare Advantage (MAPD) or standard Medicare + Prescription Dr-g Plan (PDP). It is the only way for prescription dr-g coverage and they pay a substantial penalty if they wait to get it later. Blue and HealthSpring both have combination of MAPD and PDP products. Members won’t be dropping Part D coverage due to cost.
@eb that might be entertaining….
@cn once I see Maurice getting us into a war with the AON building across the street then maybe I'll come around to this argument, until then...
@cq somehow you don’t seem to be a good person. Very judgemental and intolerant and calling names - so mature. Others have opinions but apparently only yours matters.
The reality is that you must not be a great co worker.
@cn You’re probably a repulsive MAGA yourself.
@ck We are led at this company by a basket of buttclowns.
@ck so are you. Politicians come and go -you deal with it and live your life.
But this is about our leadership and they are far more clueless than most politicians.
Hopefully the orange clown will be gone in 2028. MAGA are a disgusting group of people.
The timing was poor and so was the strategy. Cigna wasn't selling an asset, they were selling a risk as they struggled to gain profitability with Medicare.
The irony is that Cigna now makes money off of the RX plan through their Evernorth plan under the post sale agreement! HCSC inherits the bill but Cigna gains the margin.
HCSC can only hope that the balance sheet holds while they factor integration costs.
Immediately after the sake, HCSC ratings dropped from AA to A
The market understood more than leadership. That's saying something
Highly unlikely. Do you even understand what part D and an MA plan are?
The Cigna acquisition would've been a fraction of the cost like half a year later. They don't know what they're doing
@OP bingo
