Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

To those who incessantly complain about this place

You have the opportunity to do something good for those that wish to stay. Talk to your manager and put yourself forward to be on the list and get a package. Or just keep talking about how you want to leave. Your choice

I keep asking to get laid off for the last year and never got picked. So till they do, I'll keep cashing their checks.

The Managers are trained in how to treat employees, those weekly one-on-one calls (if you have them, they are to collect information from you. They were required to have them. I just ensured I turned them into a Status meeting where they are updated on all the projects and the issues, and allowed them to chime in on a direction if they wanted to.
Granted, they have their favorites- the ones that can be controlled and don't push to get work done. It is a Septic Tank of leadership. Pay is low, control everything, and take zero responsibility - Welcome to Fiserv! Where you too will get laid off eventually. Stay if you want, leave if you can. It is a great experience in how the leadership keeps the truth from you!

@cx agreed. There's always a level of self interest involved so plan accordingly. You always have to look out for #1 and that should always be yourself.

It’s not bad advice but also not realistic. As always, managers will get rid of personalities, not people. And if you carry your team there’s no way you’ll get on the list. Managers are too selfish to do anything but what’s good for them.

I have no interest in helping any bootlicker that wishes to stay. Thanks for the fantastic advice, but I'm gonna pass...
