H1B is a TEMPORARY work visa program. They are not here to fight. They are here to work for the time of the visa period and to go home if they don’t find other ways to stay here legally. Not to fight for anything. Just work. Leave all the fighting in your country of citizenship.
@a2 Why expect H1B workers to control company decisions? If you want H1B employees laid off first, that is an issue to take up with HR, not individual workers. H1B holders don't know what you earn or if our pay is on par with yours. If citizens want to ensure they aren't being underpriced, a better solution would be to create a platform where citizens openly share their salary data. That way, H1B workers can see how much less they might be earning and fight for fair pay alongside you.

People are complaining about H1B precisely because they are worrying about their loved ones and putting food on the table. It is why H1B should be laid off entirely first before Americans are. That is just common sense policy. H1B is a privilege not a right. And I’m in the voting pool who wants our US government prioritize our citizens livelihoods over foreigners. Doesn’t mean a foreigner can’t make it here. It means a citizen shouldn’t be at a loss to a foreigner. Also if a citizen wants to marry a foreigner that foreigner should move to the front of the line. If a charity/non profit wants a foreigner for work that should also get prioritized. A profit earning company? They should know it’s a privilege to even hire a foreigner. All foreigners? Feel lucky you even have a shot
