Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why are we using AI automation to eliminate “tens of thousands of jobs” when the real savings are in the C-Suite?

Our CEO claims the bank needs to automate routine tasks to save money. But if the goal is truly maximum cost reduction, the math isn't adding up.

  • The Worker: Costs a modest salary, generates direct output, and uses AI to get 30% faster.
  • The Executive: Costs millions in base pay, multi-million dollar bonuses, massive stock grants, and golden parachutes.

If AI is excellent at synthesizing massive data sets, forecasting market trends, predicting risks, and optimizing resource allocation... isn't that literally the job description of our C-Suite?

And more importantly, is the constant focus on cost reduction the most effective path to growth?

A tireless AI-replaced C-suite could intelligently transition Wells Fargo from a defensive "crisis-management" posture into a growth-oriented, technologically advanced institution with unwavering focus. By pivoting away from the aggressive cost-cutting and East Coast centralization that defined our CEO’s tenure, a new AI leadership could optimize the bank across 3 primary areas that include 1. Aggressive Technical and Digital Modernization 2. Business Diversification and Revenue Growth, and 3. Modernization of Risk and Compliance.

Eliminating the C-Suite introduces truly independent oversight, while removing bias and self-dealing, ethical issues, nepotism, lack of accountability, and stifled innovation due to an outdated old boys club mentality.

If we are truly entering an era of peak efficiency, let’s start at the top of the org chart, not the bottom.

What you're failing to grasp is that 5% isn't producing anything. They never make a single sale, never close a single deal, never helped a single customer, never made a single trade. They are the unnecessary expense here, not the "masses" that actually does the work to earn the company all the money it makes. So sure, as a percentage of total compensation the executive class percentage may be low, but it's also the most expendable based on production. That's a problem. There's no good reason to pay these clowns millions at all. They get stock, if the company does well, so will they. No need to throw $30M bonuses at people for doing nothing of substance.

The “Firm” spent $35 billion on personnel over the past 12 months. Exec pay is less than 5% of that, you stupid fu--s. The savings is in the masses of bloat below the executive ranks.

You haven't figured it out yet? With all the highly paid execs still being hired from JPM etc while thousands of serfs are laid off? People like you have to be culled to pay the biggies. You ain't in the club.

The execs will self reward themselves for deploying AI. Just as they did with Agile transformation, cloud migration and workflow implementation. The next shiny object they go after.... with DEI hires BE and TK and a Dutch immigrant. The Wells Fargo tech cluster f continues. Lovely....

@dg You and I do not share your low level of thinking. Your disapproval is a compliment to me. Thank you!

@da People capable of writing and thinking don't need to have a machine sh-t out a post for them.

And your first sentence doesn't logically follow. It's becoming clearer why people (for lack of a better term) like you need a chatbot to "assist your ideas".

The purpose of this entire post is to be openly and clearly critical of Charlie’s strategies, so there are no grudges “peeking out.”

There are employees who work at Wells Fargo who are capable of thinking, writing and questioning the status quo. Those are the employees Charlie is actively trying to eliminate. (You seem like you will be safe.)

It's so funny when you can see the nutcase's pet grudges peeking out from his prompts. "East coast centralization" 😂

@ce Don't ask someone to read and respond to something you couldn't be bothered to write yourself, and then get on your high horse when they return your disrespect.

You're making the common mistake of expecting logic to be applied anywhere within WF.

Who is NOT using AI to assist their ideas these days? Funny that the goon out here can’t of another critique.

The funny part is that the execs have cut well over 100,000 people and yet we have more executives now than when they started. These are the same people that keep telling us about efficiency and doing more with less yet they are clearly incapable of doing it themselves.
