Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

What's Sassine approval rate in the last survey?

I heard that Sassine approval rate was low in the latest survey. Can any one share the real approval number?

@dc It's much higher on the actual SHAPE survey

The exact SHAPE results are visible to any manager with 5+ reports.

@137 Thank you for the clarification. That’s good to know, though it’s all the sadder that so many Synopsys folks are hit just as hard—maybe even harder. We “legacy Ansys” employees only know what it is now, whereas you knew it as a good place, as it must have been before.

@hr Hear, hear! A lot of us are on that same boat. I keep asking myself, is it crazy, to mourn a company? Probably. Just a paycheck, right?

And yet, Ansys was something special—the work, the people, the ethic. I never planned on going anywhere else. Didn’t need to, never wanted to.

And now…even if my job were bulletproof (which is a joke), I don’t think I’d feel any better about this whole mess. Synopsys has shown itself pretty clearly, and now that the dirty underbelly has been fully exposed, you can’t unsee it.

We've been told that we'll see the results of the survey sometime soon, but we haven't been told them yet. I've come from Ansys and I don't know a single colleague that is still happy and not completely overworked and overwhelmed. We WERE happy. They have gutted our department and surrounding departments. The constant fear of being laid off for the past 2 years has taken a toll. I think many at this point would find it a relief.

ceo can't get out of that hole anymore. miserable 2yr performance, extremely abrasive leadership culture under him, survey results and employee approval down in the gutter, financials look okay at first glance, but at first glance only.

this guy will ruin the company if they keep let him do his thing.

@dm In the past, managers and directors would openly share the survey results with their teams, even when the numbers weren’t great. This time, I suspect management will keep the results in the safe. If the survey results are as bad as many people expect, sharing them would only expose how unhappy and frustrated employees really are, and put management in an embarrassing position. For Sassine, the easiest way to avoid humiliation is simply not to show the numbers.

Yrah, it would be nice to have a solid number. But given that company-level results were hidden behind a spectacularly vague newsletter item, we can only surmise what it may have been.

@OP I heard his approval rating is below 30%. If that's true, he has lost the confidence of most employees, and t's time for him to step down as CEO.
