Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Terminated

Is it normal to be terminated with just supervisor and manager/boss on the call? No HR.?

No,can't terminate you without cause. But they can try force you to go (for example, low score at end of year). Know a few who got that treatment in January.

Hate this place, although i'm sure many companies do this

Have they started using terminations to save on redundancy payouts now?

@OP

Yes, in some low-value terminations, HR doesn't bother to attend.

Yeah its normal. Your next meeting after meeting manager is with HR, and you can meet with them as much as want until leave.

Also before you sign NDA with solicitor they'll ask you if you feel aggrieved and want to persue action.

Good luck, you'll be grand.

My experience is that it is the direct manager only. Unless that manager wants a “witness” and/or new to the role, then a peer attends. HR is only involved with the review of issues/metrics not achieved which precipitates the approval for official termination

Usually, it is a manager and someone from HR
