Can someone explain what the difference is? For example Central Supervision, Specials Surveillance , Compliance people in the Markets, Finet branch supervisors, internal branch exams etc. Who is who?

@15f Well but in my experience nobody in any Corp Risk or WIM Risk is ever held accountable for anything. The people who serve customers are always blamed, even for things Corp/WIM Risk knows are problematic yet fail to help mitigate.
seems by design so what sh-t falls apart the risk and culpability is spread out, making things look less intentional
@bm 100% true for WIM CRO.
Bottom line is this, most risk and 2nd line compliance people will be gone. They have India for 2nd line.
@g5 That is exactly my team's experience with IRM, esp. CRO. It's driving all of us crazy. Our CRO rep gets off on bullying people and trying to get everyone in trouble with senior leaders. Such a gigantic waste of everyone's time just so one person can feel important and try to seem indispensable. If that person left the remaining IRM partners might be tolerable.
Risk is the lifeline of this organization and Flowers saved this company by getting the asset cap removed. Show some respect!
Change mgmt, issue mgmt, NBI, policy/procedure updates, asking to go to the bathroom. Somehow our IRM mafia is involved in it all and we can’t find a way to politely tell them to eff off. I spend so much time presenting to these goons and they always come up with the most ridiculous unrelated stuff to track down before they rubber stamp it. Who are these lucky LOBs that have IRM people that don’t ask questions?
Our CRO only does NBI and they take forever because they want to be the single point of contact but then their coordination and endless questions just bottleneck the whole process. Which CRO team does issues?! Do they actually do other things than just sit on meetings and never ask any questions?!
@er you have GOT to be kidding. Had no idea tollgates are no longer required. You mean we've been suffering through all that endless tollgate and pre-tollgate abuse just for fun?? Is CRO the only group keeping tollgates alive or is it a broader "IRM" conspiracy? This is insane.
@e6 CRO is the definition of bureaucracy overkill. Tollgates are no longer a requirement and should be going away, yet CRO continues to interject thinking they add so much value to every small process change a business tries to implement.
You have to wonder how bad the crazy guy is at his job for Risk to always be on his a$$ like that.
Many layers of redundancy that was fueled by incompetence which no one wants to admit. Layers of management need to be reduced along with requiring periodic rotation to foster fresh perspectives.
Nah, they're just sick of that guy's paranoid obsession with Risk lol
@bm guess a lot of people on the CRO team read your post -- looks like you struck a nerve haha
@dq Who?
Get rid of D Williams and all his reports. The fat will then be trimmed in Risk
nobody knows. sorta like nobody knows why the CRO (Chief Risk Office) exists. just a cost center that serves no purpose beyond condescendingly tormenting revenue-generating LOBs with busy work that distracts them from serving customers.
There’s absolutely no point in splitting IT and Risk across different business lines when corporate risk can do the exact same job.
