Twilio Stock Surges After Q2 Earnings

Twilio's video and voice APIs along with their voice-based AI features, are proof that this space is very much a growth market.

Cisco had the same assets and the same opportunity. Instead it filed the people building this technology under non-core, non-growth, legacy, and let them go.

The market just told Cisco what it thinks of that call.

@dr it’s so scary out. It’s getting much better out there. I left Cisco and now making $40k with a 401k match of 50% because Cisco pays cr-p.

But you stay there.

Twilio is one thing, but an even better example of a company eating Cisco's lunch is Five9. Their stock is up 81.5% since the beginning of the year.

Cisco's Webex Contact Center is in a downward spiral, and the blame rests squarely on the ELT's (G2, the new CFO, and Chuck) shoulders.

At this point, the only way Cisco beats Five9 is to buy it. Zoom would applaud the move. Let Cisco engorge another competitor and excrete it a few years later, half-digested and stripped of whatever made it worth buying in the first place.

So many poor souls about to hit the most brutal job market in recent memory. Going from a job where you work MAYBE 20 hours a week and a culture of do as little as possible to get by is about to be a rude awakening for many. Companies are requiring much more for a LOT less pay right now. I do not envy any of you right now :(
