Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Additional RIF Incoming?

Hearing some chatter about another RIF on 8/1....something along the lines that the RIF on 7/1 wasn't the complete list in order to avoid public reporting....any truth in this?

@q8 I think they’re too big to be mice. They looked like rats to me. I need a new job at an office that does not have rats. Some of us have standards.

Why don’t they ever lay off the fu--ing mice? Apparently they’re the only ones at CDW with real job security.

@e5 What team are you on that is being told to limit AI usage? We're being pushed to use it more and to find ways to integrate it into collective processes.

Oh my, that's brutal. I wouldn't doubt it though. Everybody needs to line up their alternate sources of income now!

@ds with the way they keep talking about limiting our ai usage as it’s expensive, Claude may also be on a performance plan soon enough

Lol wow. In a few months we'll have one worker with a Claude setup doing all the customer facing and backbone work. SVPs will be fine though.

@b3
They need to boost the margins compared to the revenue #'s...that's what tanked the stock last earning even with the beat.
Investors want higher profit and higher profit growth.
They'll need to buy back more shares and boost dividends just to keep people from moving their money.

How do they boost profit growth...we're seeing it with lower compensation for everyone, tenured coworkers actively being replaced with a new wave via the growth in the intern program, and finally more layoffs.

Crazy how how we pay these dummies for a playbook anyone can create.

@ap Oh but don't forget that in the last results call Al talked about how we have a billion dollars to repurchase stick at the right time. That means we are either shoring it up now or believe it's actually going to go lower.

@OP
No matter what...it gets in the news once laid off coworkers post on here and Reddit.

Google AI even pulls it up if you search "CDW layoff"

Our geniuses don't understand its 2026 and the info age even though we provide the tech that allows all the data to be at your fingertips.

With the LinkedIn pictures with the masses of interns they brought in...I'm guessing the layoffs aren't done. Seems like they are going to have the funnel to replace people with entry level fresh meat.

As long as the stock is stagnant and not reversing the flat or declining trend...they will probably have layoffs, additional share buybacks, and cutting comp as the tools they have to push things.
