Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How many Indian Impats to USA?

I have seen maybe hundreds of Indian Impats on Spring campus and many at the 3 B’s.

I have heard that they are so low paid that even with housing and expat benefits that they are lower cost than American employees.

I have also seen a few threads started about this but seem to get deleted.

At least a thousand. Plus hundreds assigned to the refineries.

They should be on student visas because here to learn.

$40 / hr for an $85 / hr job (the middle man pockets the difference to kick back xom managers and sups)

Xom is one of the most corrupt organizations on earth.

A recent Uber driver told me that 95% of the rides he’s seen to campus in the past year have been “those people.”

Perhaps but the goal is to eventually send them back to India to have them work for low cost there and then directly train others without having them come to the US. So while they may cost as much as a US employee now, that cost is temporary. Where hiring a US local is not.

I heard that with the expat uplift and cost of living allowance and travel and housing cost that a BTC Impat in Houston is almost exact same cost as US employees.

Look up the explorer program. They get economy class flights and small salary adjust for the US. It's a completely seperate program from international expat.

Actually they are cheaper. They are put on short term assignment, their salary is adjusted for US cost of living while they reside and train here, they receive no other benefits.

@aq except indians are not known for their loyalty. They will likely quit if you don't pay them significantly more after expat stint

They aren’t cheaper when they are expat to US but the plan is to train them and then send them back to India which is where they are then cheaper. Eventually EMHC is planned to be emptied out.
