I recall seeing a post on this forum a while back where there was a government website that listed all the positions that ExxonMobil has had to pay the $100K visa fee for that were posted and the salaries for those positions. Does anyone have that link? One of the positions I recall was in EMTECH which had a salary of $500K without the visa fee. How is it that the company thinks it is saving money on these positions by filling them with TC expats? Is it because they don't have to pay their benefits or US 401K and pensions? Could someone shed some light on how that all works?

have been reading about this train wreck about to happen for years. BTC and MSPS are working out just fine, for years now. The work done in EM is high school skill level at max, so don’t act so precious
@dv Agree. At some point, they will start demanding higher salaries and the outcome will be to outsource everything to MSPs that are even cheaper than the TC employees. The TC's are staffing up, but in operations, the grunt work that the TCs don't want to do are handed over to even less competent MSPs. This whole thing is like watching a train wreck about to happen.

@bj yea except when some other oil company that also has a BTC says hey I’ll pay you 150% more than Exxon does now that you have this training, they leave, and then we get to do it all over again with new TC expats while actually doing our real jobs the entire time.
@OP The entire policy was smokescreen designed to whip up the white, male base of the Republican Party, which seems to include most people who post here.
In reality, there were/are massive loopholes, including paying a “one time fee” to the U.S. government that totally isn’t corruption or bribery.
You people are almost criminally uninformed about the most basic aspects of how your society actually works right now.
They aren’t saving money while in the US. They are having you train your replacements. Once they go back to India the money saving starts.
