@j3 It does not state 2200. Its states 66k if you have 30. In the fact sheet.
@hf They thought 5 G home internet would cover the areas they skipped. WRONG. That was the decision that doomed this company
@j2 all in? So if everyone takes it the managers get to do the work? There has to be a specific number. You could have entire areas with no techs
Now If they don't get whatever number they are looking for they could lay people off
@dm I don’t see reference to the $2200 in the packet. Where is this listed?
@fz Yeah. No surplus list. Must b an all in that was always rumored.
@fg well I guess you can blame Verizon for dragging their feet. We should own all of NJ
It’s the same in NY, areas they didn’t want to build were the first ones built out by cable. Just one more bad decision.
So received the EISP in nj field .But not seeing any info on how many or where .So the question is does this mean anyone who was offered will automatically get approved.Or is the limit like 1 in this location or there based on seniority.I see nothing on ibew site stating the titles amounts and locations
No bridge to Medicare? Well, I guess they'll get a few 64 year olds to take this offer.
Folks. The bottom line is technology is changing. Musk and Google are launching satellites for internet and wireless. There are more and more companies competing against Verizon. In New Jersey Verizon is now running fiber in a town that Cable and Planet Network beat them to it. If your offered the Eisp abandon ship. If not start saving. Welcome to technology.
@em Who got the Ibew NJ surplus list? I got an offer today.
@f8 you sound like a Manager a--hole. Or runner. But just overall general piece of sh-t.
@f8 you know, we’re still splicing a lot of fiber for Fios and cell sites.Thats what we sell.
@f8 Well we are here . There is still plenty of splicing , cuts , road jobs and new work to keep us busy . We have a four year contract that will take most of us into retirement. Hope you survive the next RIFF .
@ep splicers? Is there anything actually getting spliced anymore. It takes zero skill to cut a copper cable when they are all dead. Most techs lucky to actually have a job. An absolute miracle the union convinced Verizon to extend the contract 4 years. Its not a monopoly anymore. The leaner more agile companies have a distinct advantage and a lot less debt. What proprietary service does Verizon have these days? Nothing. The service is not any better than att or T-Mobile. The good days are long gone. Congratulations to anyone able to take advantage of a buyout
@f3 all over Virginia . Also some in Maryland . Many in eastern Va and also on central Va
@b8 Where?
@ej 52 splicers and about 19-20 serv techs / system techs
This is a good option for those close to medicare age. But if you want to motivate those still up to 6 years out, there needs to be a bridge to medicare included.
Spoke with tech today $50k plus $2200 for every year up to 40
@ef a couple splicers got it. And service system techs as well
So far, a few CST's (from different locals) in Maryland have received the email...
Few osp eas in northern va got the email so far
@b8 lol. Touch back a year from now
@e0 They did to management. Why should be get the same offer ?
@e4 Maybe not happening there. Also, maybe call your local and you might have an answer in 2 minutes instead of posting on here and getting rumors for 4 hours
2201 just sent email to members .
Is there any news in Maryland? None of the CWA locals here have anything posted.
IBEW 827 posted yesterday on FB that the eisp is being sent out
@dz That’s where contractors enter the picture.
@dx Do you really think they are gonna make an offer to pretty much everybody? Cmon, be smarter than that.
@OP if south jersey hired 100 lineman tomorrow it wouldn't make a dent. Between accidents ,state jobs, cable mining and fiber build there is non stop work. And You got enough double woods to last 2 lifetimes !
@dm That's called enhanced.
@ds I would assume the phrase Eisp to the majority of titles and locations in the state means pretty much everybody.
@dt cwa 1000 surplus list is on FB.
@cz New Jersey
Would you like to share your CEA 13000 surplus declaration you have in front of you??
Anybody have IBEW 827 surplus numbers and job titles? They mention it on the facebook page without details, and no mention on their website. Tried calling and no pickup. TIA
2026 3Q Surplus Declaration PA 13000 is in front of me.
@dm It pretty much should always be for people ready to leave, those limited few who will be eligible for the offer. These guys who aren’t ready or who think it is game changing money are fools.
Nothing enhanced it’s just $50,000 bonus plus $2200 a year up to max 40 years .Its great for anyone looking to leave but not a game changer for others .No clue on field titles or locations or numbers .It maybe across the board we will see soon
