They're all sociopaths. The HR Business Partners are not your friends but your enemies. They are there to protect the management who are proxies for the company.

@24b I’m happy to leave and take the legacy Discover Pip severance package with 20 weeks of salary. The team, manager and Director are toxic. Not a good place to work anymore.

@248

I feel for you It's a twisted, wicked, and vindictive putrid system. Once on a PIP you've been targeted and your reputation sullied. Therefore, negotiate severance don't settle for the cheap 12 weeks. Tell them you've been harassed because of any protected status such as, race, age, gender, s-xual preference, ehtnicity, nationality, politics, and reverse discrimination if you're Caucasian. It's all good. Much of what they're asking you to sign in the severance to release all claims is illegal anyways. And once you've been fired on a PIP you'll never rehired again so it don't matter.

Love yourself first. Don't take a cheap necklace from the garbage they plan to give you. Ask for more money !!!!

@234 During my 1:1 with manager on Friday 7/31. I was informed the written PIP notice will be delivered in Mid August. I can opt out PIP and get severance after 60 days.

@1yy Legacy DFS here too… no disrespect but don’t you think you’re gonna be laid off in next round (August?) instead? Where I’m at it seems like this is how last two rounds went. Those with poor ratings were let go.

I got a strong rating but very clearly seemed to be positioning what was great performance to a low end rating of strong for very minor items vs actual results lacking. Prior DFS and expected to have gotten a above strong with my actual performance. This was how i was personally going to evaluate decisions on my next steps so looks like i'm going for another job.

I knew someone who fled capone and went to discover. The person was in a bad situation his own manager was put on a PIP and fired and next and he was next. Then capone bought discover and he's back into a similar like the first time. Now he must he must be panicking. Deja vu.

I'm so glad I departed DFS just prior to the merger. Capital One is the clown car at the circus. It is despicable that Samuel L. Jackson and Jennifer Garner do commercials for Capital One.

That's even worse. The complexity of each individual organizations can't be consolidated or supported simultaneous. The only way is death. When you do so much bad things: customer privacy, tech debt, credit card defaults by low quality customers, financial reporting chicanery, and more. It's got to be death.

@e0 that’s false. Not a single exec from dfs is leading a team that has capital one

I think that some DFS managers and execs must have taken over some leadership roles within thr combined organization. It means some divisions or work groups must be led by legscy DFS execs and management.

Therefore, it could be likely that legacy DFS management will put legacy Capone employees or h00chies on a PIP and fire them.

I definitely think that is the case.

Same. I got overall strong but some competencies are BS.

I hope to get BS end of year to get the dfs enhanced severance when I opt out of pip

It seems like Capital One has ZERO skill within their HR department. How can a company play this game with their employees for over 26 years. Changing target percentages based on their people needs constantly. It sure does appear to be their strategy to ensure that they manage the payroll based on needs during the current half year. I am sure they have done the analysis on the cost of hiring when they want more work done vs the cost of a small severance or no severance impacts the bottom line. I am glad I left several years ago. I really feel for the people who are caught up in all this. Given the length of my employment, I have seen, it is a constant.
