Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Took a year to explain "market-based culture"

...and it's still hilariously vague and meaningless. Our execs are an absolute clown show. These people just throw buzz words around like r.e.t.a.r.d.s. and expect us to be amazed with their genius. I guess they've been up at night trying to figure out what the he-l they could say in response to us asking "what the fu-k does market based culture" mean you fu--ing mo--ns?

Same sh-t as the AT&T Guarantee...they think if they repeat it enough it'll mean something. They went from pumping that Guarantee all the time and how industry revolutionizing it was (wow, you offer refunds when your service doesn't work...amazing), and now you don't see it anywhere. Must be pretty special!!

Any chance there's someone willing to share the text of the email or web page that explains "market-based culture"? Some of us may not have access to that information.

Blah blah blah , all nonsense.

We have work to do, I don’t have time for all of the bloviating, made up, buzz word nonsense mumbo jumbo.

great to hear that employees are now empowered to make a change. What part of the red tape is being removed to make this possible? Are employees actually being given autonomy? And what part of the approval process has been eliminated?

I didn’t see them boasting about extra incentives or bonuses to go with that “market” based culture. They must have skipped that part of the training session.

BTW - there hasn’t been a single company that has succeeded with a market based culture without added incentives. This is straight out of the 1980’s GE playbook and they abandoned it for a reason. Just like every other company that did it. But since we are back in the 80s with 5x RTO, I guess it makes sense again.

do you see any AVP or VP capable of and willing to tell Stanky that his orders stink? If not then this isn't a market based culture it's a let's pretend culture

Watch the Boeing documentary on Netflix and see where these CEO’s get their inspiration. Makes sense now.

Big Stank operates the company as a hierarchical company how does he expect the rest of the company to be bottom top oriented

RTO is the opposite of market based and that’s all anyone really cares about. In terms of “culture”, the market favors flexibility - ie hybrid or remote - yet we disregard that, which shows just how pointless this stuff is.
