@ew that makes sense and I always wondered why people take what is in the FAQ section as gospel.
If they are wanting to rehire someone, of course there is going to be negotiations regarding issues of repaying past severance before the person decides to accept the employment offer.
If management wants you bad enough of course they are going to negotiation!

@et what if i told you i was rif in may, rehired in july? Actually got severance right before i was rehired and when i came back and reached out to hr regarding my severance repayment they said to keep it- they are not pursuing repayment. 💃🏽
@en that’s not what the VSP offer said. Did you read it. And if you did get hired back, you may have to pay back the severance.

@en I was going by the FAQ in the VSP document that states- If I am assigned a later separation date, can I apply for another role at Centene?
If your VSP application is accepted, you should not apply for internal openings at Centene.

@dm thats not true. We were told if u apply for vsp and get accepted u can apply to other roles.

What is beyond frustrating is taking the VSP waiting out till my end date of late 2027 AND THEN they post a supervisor position and an email goes out to the team about it?!?! Oh everyone is encouraged to apply. Ridiculous

@OP It's not about the number of people they want gone. It's about the $ saved. VSPs are structured to encourage high earners to leave. Getting rid of people that have been with the company for decades saves more money per person than getting rid of a bunch of low level analysts. So they count up the $ saved after the VSP, account for positions that will need to be back filled, and then lay off low performers or newly hired to make up the difference.
