Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

More insider trades

My alert went off this morning. Good times for another executive. From publicly available information…

Chris Koster, Centene’s General Counsel:

2023: $4.84M
2024: $5.06M
2025: $6.51M

On August 18, 2026, Koster sold 47,603 Centene shares for roughly $3.11 million. $16.4M in three years. Cha-Ching sir! Here are the stock trades:

Not bad for the top lawyer at a company whose business is largely administering taxpayer-funded healthcare.

Koster went from county prosecutor → Missouri Senator → Missouri Attorney General → Centene executive.

So basically, decades in Missouri government followed by millions a year at one of the country’s largest Medicaid contractors.

At least someone figured out how to make Medicaid profitable. But sure, keep cutting the people doing the actual work. That ought to fix the margins. And congrats, Chris. Don’t spend it all in one place.

You just sound jealous of people that make millions. Sure I would love to make that much too but you’re not making me angry that someone makes millions and I don’t.

Why are you even here? If it bothers you so much go work somewhere that the upper executives don’t make millions so you can find peace instead of feeling so angry? I’d say go work for Walmart but the Waltons making bank too. Your argument isn’t valid if you think it’s just Centene executives making bank. Good for them. I couldn’t do the role they do. They pay me fairly well for what I do and contribute.

Just go. Put in your resignation and just go.

@af these are not “abrupt” stock sales - executives at that level have to schedule these well in advance and they are public. there’s no hidden agenda, just capitalism.

Guess the whole “pay for performance” or whatever it is doesn’t apply all the way up the ladder.

I’m glad my vsp was accepted despite having to “start over”. This company leadership is up to no good.

@a1 His two abrupt stock sales could mean a public scandal that could put them at risk of their stock going way down is impeding.

Thanks for the post! I agree that it is truly sickening how all of these large for-profit health insurance corporation EXECUTIVES are profiting big time off tax payer dollars just so that every night we can see on the national news night after night, such as NBC’s program “Cost of Denial” where the elderly, disabled, and indigent are having their much needed legitimate health claims denied, while illegitimate fraud, waste, and abuse goes unchecked.
