Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Accenture must have generated that ad that runs on MASN - the one with the fastest cars and really shiny buildings that look like HP, and the last 1/3 of the add is a man and a woman in full business attire running away from something as fast as they can until they have liftoff and take to the sky! I view it as the outflows speeding up. I saw a Fisher Investments ad that really stated its case well about what it has to offer and what makes it different. The T Rowe ad mentions "Ask the right questions?". Maybe someone should have "asked" if switching in cheap labor would help the company thrive?

They need to cut expenses until company starts growing.

Don’t take it personally. Those who are let go are not incompetent. Those who stay are not competent. Many factors go into it. Your pay is one. Then are you focused on growing or keep lights on job. Growing business jobs are cut first. Then if you have friends or enemies both above and under you.

But, they cannot stop useless spend like Camden yards or HP building.

@hp We all got sh** canned on our team. When DEI rose at the Firm, they sent an email out about how new minority employees would each be assigned "mentors" and there was a structured plan in place to make sure that they succeeded. That really hurt me, as I struggled hard, but prevailed, and became a good performer. Those were very rough times for me. It would have been nice if I had been afforded the same. This was only for people of color. Not for disabled people, women, or veterans. This sort of plan would have been great if it was available to everyone.

DEI is only to get various certifications from various identity groups. It seemed in my observations that woman and minorities were kicked out in droves, and if anyone was kept it was white men. And no, they were no low quality workers. It was all after Accenture and TCS.

Uh everyone gets dumped in a cube and has to figure it out. TRP is the worst at that, out of my 2 other corporate gigs. It was hard and my coworkers were jealous and unhelpful. I am still here and they are not.

@gc Good for you. I was hired and really excited because I had applied for years. When I started I was shoved in a cubicle and basically it was implied I needed to "figure it out for myself". I didn't need "training", but there was much I needed to know that any new employee would have needed - information that pertained specifically to T Rowe. I sent out resumes within weeks, but the question "why was I leaving within 30 days" was just too hard to answer so I stuck it out. Plus I didn't want to be a "quitter". I accepted the offer because I was offered more money then I ever made in my life. That was a mistake.

Being laid off was the best thing to happen to me. The place is a widow maker waiting to happen. It is not worth the stress and potentially dying young so dou--ebag upper managers can play Wall Street Big Shot at Camden Yards and draw huge salaries for terrible poor management skills. There were few managers I respected - most were mediocre and let a lot fall onto the people below them that never should have made it that far. I will never again compromise myself for "big money" and allow myself to be treated repeatedly like a piece of garbage. This place was great once, and that ended decades ago.

I left T.Rowe 2 years ago. I don't have to seek therapy anymore. My new employer has their own set of problems, including layoffs but at least I can wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror again.
