@OP just haven't heard of numbers that make it seem like a big WFR. Maybe a few here and there.
@h5 what group or what product??
@h5 how many ppl
About 80% of our group
@fw approved to work remote- one Canadian PM was laid off with 21 years experience. Remote
@fd WFH as in people that weren't coming into the office or remote employees that were approved to work remotely?
Keep reading post with numbers, but ISG is quite large so 10 or 20 cut doesn't really sound significant unless it's 10 or 20 in a group of 20 or 30.
Over 20 in my division in isg. Mostly all WFH with a over 20+ years of service
I heard the number was 40% budget cut, meaning more US people will be cut since they are more expensive. AI will save the day, that is the expectation. In ISG engineering, they made people working nights and weekends on Knowledge Extraction, everything get checked in on Friday, then BAMM Monday layoff. The manager in my 1x1 layoff meeting had a big smile on her face and she said that she knew about the layoff list for a couple of weeks already. What a l-wlife she is!
@a4 And the manager is safe? Wow. I’ve never seen that before. I’m not a Dell lifer and I’ve worked at many companies. I’m amazed at how top heavy Dell is. Most places if you slash 50% or more of the team, the manager gets slashed too. Team can be absorbed elsewhere.
In Poland R&D office ca. 250 will be off since 1st sep.
Layoffs will ongoing! Any mass layoffs will be made public first!! So layoff will continue at small amounts in order to escape public eye
@a4 which team ?
@a4 Your manager(s) should have been the first to go with that many let go in what has always been a useless role at Dell.
@a4 oh wow what product team
Team got hit hard, about 30%
My manager lost 80%. Another manager lost 90%. May be more than 50 people in our product team.
