@ms don’t blame them because you are not good enough to be in a better role. Jealously is tough, eh?

@kw your post helps their argument that people just complain about what they don’t have vs do something about it. Not getting it at Nike then go make a name for yourself somewhere else. The woe is me approach isn’t how life works.

Don’t like it do something about it or you’re not good enough to be in a stock role in the first place so face reality.

@kw People that truly have marketable skills will get higher compensation. You are under the impression that the only way to do so is by going your whole career at Nike, which is probably why you are salty about it.

@jw writes, “With the right career path, work ethic, and results, anyone can achieve that.”

LOL! Poor fellow seems to think that Nike is a meritocracy where sheer work ethic and talent ensures career success.

Did you just fall off the turnip truck? Because the fact is, some very talented and accomplished employees do indeed rise through the ranks and an even greater number of those same people don’t. If you don’t have the right people advocating for you, if your role is inherently siloed, or if you simply are highly skilled and accomplished but not visible enough, no…promotion and additional benefits like stock options are NOT obtainable or obtained by everyone.

It’s a nice thought you have, but it doesn’t at all reflect the full reality of corporate dynamics and how people do and don’t advance. To believe otherwise is terribly naive.

@ka clear jealously here. Everyone wants a trophy nobody wants to earn it. Typical. Why Nike is where it is today.

Fu-k you. Regular people are struggling to pay rent while these so-called “leaders” rake in massive salaries and contribute next to nothing to justify them.

Everyone knows the real work at Nike happens at Level 40 and below. Too much of management is focused on politics, self-promotion, and looking good in front of senior leadership instead of supporting the people actually delivering results.

What a complete joke of a company. Go to he-l.

Just because the original poster put themselves in a position to receive stock doesn’t justify the hate they’re receiving. With the right career path, work ethic, and results, anyone can achieve that. Don’t criticize them for achieving what many others do simply because it doesn’t align with your own circumstances. Instead, focus on working towards a role that offers those benefits. That’s the key to retiring comfortably and avoiding the need to work until you’re 80 years old. By taking the necessary steps, you can get stock.

Also, Nike stock is not particularly generous compared to the benefits offered by other companies. Are you going to criticize individuals at other companies who receive stock as well simply because it doesn’t match your own situation?

This is partly about being reminded a very frustatting reality that thousands of people that may not be smarter, may not work harder and may not perform better will still be rewarded many times over with huge amounts of cash and there's simply nothing to be done about it. Maybe the bigger part is I don't think it's a particularly smart idea to be posting about one's very generous stock rewards during a time when many people are losing their jobs, getting meager crumbs of raises and facing an uncertain job market. It's lacking situational awareness. That stock grant is more than many people's entire yearly salary.

@er you likely were let go years ago as 45's haven't been getting 55k for several years, they dropped it to 45k. I'm sure there are few people out there who's bosses can swing the higher invest more often, but the default is way lower

I’m confused why I got down voted to he-l. Was just answering the dudes question. Also why is everyone pi---d? Is everyone just now finding out that your boss and boss’s boss make money? You cover your eyes when the scary part of the movie comes on? Was trying to let them know they got the equivalent of what a 45 gets at a 50 for they yearly refresher

I know lower level employees that were laid off months before their 30th year and won’t even get their 30yr check and here you are whining. I know people that were laid off after decades of service at 54 years old and can’t even use the 55 rule to supplement their income while they search for another job in their fifties without paying an IRS penalty. OP, you’re a prime example of what’s happened to the company. Honestly, go fly a kite.

55k for grade 50 is the standard. Anything above that they chose to invest in you. This year they didn’t.

What can I say, don’t expect to get the same rating and investment every year.

@c3 almost all of everything that gets done across this company happens at 40 and below. 9/10 50s I watch do fu-k all on a daily basis except get in the way, or to your own word, provide misdirection. You could probably dump 50% of 50+ grades and everyone would self organize like nothing ever happened.

Its not hate I read here, its an observation. LT at this company rarely earn what they're given and often are the problem.

Seems to be misdirected anger in these comments. If retail employees or DC employees were on here, they’d say the same sh-t about all corporate employees. Check your entitlement as well. Peace

Talk to your manager. They have option to decrease or “invest” more each year. Looks like they chose to decrease yours. Be honest with yourself and ask if you had a good or bad year, what was your rating, someone else on your team worthy of the invest to offset your decrease?

Brutal in a year where base salary increases were nonexistent.
