The revised hybrid work policy, including the ban on consecutive remote days and the three-day in-office requirement, will be implemented across all Bank of America offices in the United States. The bank has not disclosed the number of employees who will be affected by this change.

At BofA our days off don't count as office days. If you take 1-2 days off, you still have to come in 3. If you take 3 off in a week (entered in workday) the compliance report excludes that week since you are not working enough days to get 3 days in.

Cr-ppy system really but at least they don't have a way to measure how long we sit in the office (yet). Most do 5-7 hrs and escape to home to finish the day to beat rush hour traffic.

@qh yeah and if you have a disability they won't allow someone to wfh permanently. Even if you have a chronic and life long issue.
You're still expected to rto.
Which to me, that isn't right. Valid medical issue and no medical professionals are going to risk their license.

Bank of America has been trying to recruit me for 6 months. I won't go there because of this.

Some of us go in on M and F specifically for that reason. Less people around. Makes it slightly more tolerable, but only slightly. FRTO.

@qh it's really not someone's fault they hired that many people on. Ends up costing someone their job though.
They don't want people gaming the system and getting a check for nothing.

They don’t want people doing Monday and Friday at home. I’ve heard it’s because of seating constraints during the middle of the week.

I also know of someone who commutes to Charlotte from a beach town. They were driving up Monday and staying until Wednesday evening. Guess that’s done for them now.

I'm glad you full remotes are still out there going strong. Roughly 9000 people work at WF every day, proving it's possible. Hopefully our next CEO is worth something and actually embraces WFH as a cost and risk saving measure.

@ka all WFH restrictions are meant to get people to quit so WFB can avoid paying severance. there has never been any other reason.

@e5 and you’re another one. I would ask if life is difficult for the two of you but that would be like asking an empty mason jar if it contemplates life.

Still fully remote at WF, 12 years and counting. Haven’t been to an office in years. Can’t believe I’m still around. Ok with continuing to work but close enough to retirement that it’d be fine if I got displaced. Boss tells me to just keep going lol.

So, three options, uless they don't count F/M as consecutive
M, W, Th
M, T, Th
T, Th, F

I already do one of those and I'd bet not a big deal to most.

In an age of fully remote technology capabilities for most workers and AI, here we are. It just exposes how small-minded many of the so-called executives really are. Pathetic and yet laughable. The brightest minds of leadership should see this stupidity as a golden opportunity to lure top-shelf talent and build companies structured for modern-day. The dinosaurs continue to rule over bathroom breaks and mouse clicks. These people aren't really that bright. They just want to give you that illusion.

It’s probably impacting everyone. I ran into my neighbor earlier today, he works at BofA, and he is impacted. He said it’s rolling out soon for his team. Just when you thought these rules couldn’t get d-mber, here we are.

@a6 yes, but OP gave us an idea what other banks are doing as these ridiculous rules may make it our way.

@a4 If no one is around, why do you need a focus room?

by

It’s not consecutive in office days; it’s consecutive at home days. Plenty of options.

So is this a brain teaser? The only way you can do three non consecutive days a week is if everyone does M/W/F. How else would you do it? Unless you rolled over into the next week. I can wait until the boneheaded exec who came up with this finds out that everyone coming in on the same three days means not enough seats.

By the way – is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

by

Post ID: @ag+1m00x6nqg

@a2 it’s all c-suite flexing. WFH gave the workers some power, and these execs are fighting like he-l to claw it back.

This decision on consecutive days is meant to ensure workers can’t pack up after closing Wednesday and finish the week out from a vacation home. To do that would appear to be a privilege or perk, and these high rolling bank leaders can’t allow any of us to feel privileged.

Go in to work on Friday
Offices are empty and you can score a focus room for 8 hours (6 hours actual since 6 is the new 8)
