Another item for your reading pleasure. Doubtful that Stinkey has read this one.

@px cool story. Want to address the question? So why is it that you need me in the office? Me being there or not has nothing to do with you going or not.

@kd haha.. You sure like talking about licking things and getting things stuck in your throat. i'm gonna guess that's not a 'boot' lodged in your throat. Let your freak-flag fly, boot-boy. Lots of people are into weirder things than your footwear/throat fetish.

AT&T won't lay you off for being a freak.

On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer under the fifth amendment of the constitution.

I think a better title for enhancv.com article would be " Current RTO Mandates are Building Cultures of Distrust That Sabotage Company Success." Counselors refer to what people say is the problem as the "presenting problem" but understand there is usually something deeper than the problem the counselee presents; the "presenting problem" is just a handle that is easier to point to as the problem. In this case, RTO (which creates a whole bunch of real problems for employees) is the presenting problem; the real underlying issue is the toxic culture that it labels where mandates are handed by "leaders" who couldn't care less about the people who are the company, leaders whose lies are not good enough not to be easily seen through.

spoke with a smart L2. He said he made another cut of layoffs and now that it’s 5 days, he just does less and less and no one notices. Said it’s too good of pay to leave. Once L3s & 4s make their mandated cuts, things are good for a while and what people are actually doing, they really don’t know… I’m talking about office jobs in Atlanta. T made itself where it can only track time and not true valuable productivity.

@k5 nobody is stopping you from going and socializing. Why do you need me there? Weird. The boot lodged in your throat must be cutting off oxygen to the brain.

@a8 lol. you're funny. Do you know that RTO means nothing to AT&T? It is not meant to make you more productive. The purpose is to make you quit. Relo isn't because they want your lazy a55 in DFW, its because they want you to quit.

So, look here guys. Use this place. There are a lot of good looking people who hate working here as much as you do. I've spent 11 years in Dallas and I've barely scratched the surface. From college grads to career women. PMs, SMs, even the occasional VP. AT&T is my interactive social networking site. If you aren't engaging with your coworkers, you're doing RTO completely wrong.

I’ve never done less work than I have this year in the office. It’s great because I get full credit for my “work” as long as I just show up. I swipe in at 5AM and out at 1PM every single day. I hardly do anything above the bare minimum. You are measured by compliance and not but results. I didn’t make the rules I just follow them. Life is good while the bootlickers pick up the slack.

@a8 "RTO has actually helped lower the amount of widespread abuse"

Please provide the data to your BS.

Just another empirical study showing what everyone knew to be true. There is no evidence that 5xRTO increase productivity, employee engagement, or collaboration.

@d5 said: "I understand being unhappy about rto. But there's never a good excuse for workplace sabotage. That's unprofessional, unethical and immature.
Like it or not, employer has the right to say where you will work. You don't have to stay."

@d5 clearly didn't read the article they are not talking about random acts of vandalism. They are talking about realizing corporate CEOs view loyalty as a one way street and acting accordingly.
@d5 is apparently proud of being a serf.

I get paid for 8 hours. I work 8 hours. Thats not sabotage.

We don’t have to sabotage anything, the leaders do that for us. Most of us are just trying to keep the lights on and the machine running despite their bad decisions.

At AT&T, RTO has actually helped lower the amount of widespread abuse that took place when employees were spending time at home with their machines connected to the network with no activity.
