Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

How to report someone working multiple remote jobs at same time?

How do we report someone working multiple remote jobs? Not a second job after hours but someone on the clock at Centene but working another remote job at the same time?

@OP Why report them if they can multitask to that extreme more power to them. Also if they get laid off no biggy just focus on the other job. Mind your business.

Why is this thread still alive? Given the updates today I would’ve hoped people had other things to worry about.

@vk
"Loyal to Centene". Do you hear yourself? You are talking about a corporation that isn't loyal to anyone except their shareholders. They are about to layoff many loyal enployees. You also have no idea if that poster is leaving more work for other employees by working during centene hours. Not everyone here even shares their work with others on their team.

They also never said what position they had nor their metrics. For all you know they could be getting all their work done. I can't believe you are getting thumbs ups. What a d-mb post going to bat for any company.

@r6 how am I evil? You’re the one with multiple jobs during business hours at Centene. Pushing extra work on your colleagues while you collect multiple checks….

Look. Centene is not stupid. If you are working another job during business hours you can go. Some of us do not have multiple incomes. And some of us do but we do NOT work that other job while we are doing our Centene duties.

So….. you need to go. Whether Centene decides to tell your other employer is up to them. But how sh---y of you to act like you losing your job is end of the world KNOWING many of us are NOT over employed and are loyal to Centene.

You’re a greedy fu-k and I look forward to your downfall

Fu-k you snitch you have to be an evil person to try to interface with someone’s lively hoods just because they have a second income and you don’t . Mind the business that pays you .. you will never have any luck in life if that’s the type of person you are

I think Centene should be aware of other jobs whether they are COI or not. So they can monitor people taking advantage.

Cause I’ll be damned if I have to be the one to always speak up on mute while someone is juggling their other job during business hours.

May the over employed become under employed.

I will reply on this thread every day just to keep it on the top page because I’m tired of people acting like their tasks can be done but doing other work and the Centene work being put on us while they collect double checks.

Centene and HR and leadership.

They’ve never volunteer for more work.
The work number is frozen for them.
They hibernate linked in. (Mine is turned off but I’ll happily turn mine on if any leader or HR asks me to. I’ve nothing to hide)

Literally look at this thread. If they weren’t doing anything wrong they wouldn’t feel threatened now would they?

Centene HR, leadership, etc… There are people in this company, taking advantage of the fact that it is remote and doing other jobs on your dime. If it was just some innocent after hours job or weekend job then why are they so worried?

They need to be looked at. There ARE ways to catch them. But be forewarned they’ll lie through their fu--ing teeth. My work number isn’t frozen. I don’t really like linked in so I keep it off, but i would turn it back on if yall asked me to.

Go for them next. Some of us are loyal. Others are not. Let’s chunk those over employed fu----s shall we?

@k2 they either work multiple remote jobs or they work remote this job while doing another that is in person or hybrid claiming their Centene laptop is their “personal laptop”

If they were not doing anything wrong they would not get so defensive, now would they….

Bet they’re using different names in addition to freezing the work number. First initial, last initial, vice versa. A weekend gig is no problem but man some folks are really getting their pa-ties in a bunch and this thread shows it.

OP HERE. Someone accidentally unmuted on a call and it was clear they were in another meeting but…

CENTENE HR AND LEADERSHIP the replies alone to this post kind of surprised me. I had one name to give. But it’s clear plenty of them are working multiple jobs during their logged in business hours with Centene.

Does COI only look at other non competing jobs? Does it specify during business hours? It’s not okay to be salary but to do other jobs while using a mouse mover jumping from one laptop to another. They act golden cause they complete all their tasks but they act like their tasks take all this time… that’s how they get the work done at another job.

There are many articles on this. It’s called “overemployed” and these are NOT weekend or side jobs. These are jobs they are doing while “on the clock” with Centene.

Nail them. Get em out. They have multiple jobs on Centene dime. Remote jobs are notorious for this. And the responses alone show a decent handful feel threatened by my post.

Oh and when you catch them, tell their other job too. Some of us only have Centene to rely on for our jobs because we aren’t greedy and are not scamming the company to fix our frivolous spending and debt.

@dv let me guess…. You “get your tasks done” by acting like they take longer to complete than they actually do because you got your other job tasks to do too, right? :) So extra work gets pushed on your colleagues because you can’t be bothered to help your team cause… other job, right?

Working two jobs is fine from my perspective only if it affects no one. If others can tell, it hurts the team because the work falls on them. Workers will naturally want you gone when your extra job makes their work more difficult.

Over the last few years we have had 3 people in our organization that were removed for having multiple jobs, it was noticeable as their work quality was poor and they were noticeably not delivering anything. Additionally, it was difficult to get rid of them. We spent months being down a resource effectively because of this BS.

So to those that have more than one job. Most of my coworkers feel the same way as I do. I don't want to know, please don't tell me and do your job. If I can't tell what you are doing then it is of no consequence to me.

@OP you can report it anonymous through the ethics line, or if you’re comfortable you can submit a ticket to employee relations through Request Central.

It amazes me how many hypocrites are on this board. One cannot allege that Centene commits fraud and at the same time give OP he-l for wanting to report it. COIs exist for legit reasons. Policies exist for legit reasons. Centene is not a person - if you are angry about things that go on here, that’s fine and fair, but realize it’s PEOPLE who are making it that way - including those who are stealing taxpayer dollars but clocking in here while working elsewhere.

@em I don’t think you understood my comment. I started by saying I wasn’t against or in favor of reporting the colleague. I stated what the rule is, right or wrong, COI exists and is to be followed, or there are consequences. I also said that I rather not know so that wouldn’t become my responsibility to report.
I am so, but so thankful to be where I am today, and to be able to leave under the VSP agreement, but that doesn’t change anything as far as me having integrity and for doing what’s right, regardless.
Anyways, I hope that every who took the VSP packaged, the ones that eventually are going to be RIF’ed and the ones that are riding out the way, land on their feet one way or another. I know I will. I have done my time and have had my share. Always been compliant, honest and kept my integrity throughout my years of service (20+) so I am happy to be leaving on my own terms. I will figure it out. Good luck to you and to everyone else. >3

@OP you shouldn't. Why should we care about a company that doesn't care about their employees. We are expected to give two weeks notice when quitting, yet centene is asking for several weeks, months and even a year for some employees requiring them to stay to get their severance.

It's not illegal to work two jobs at the same time. You shouldn't be shouting it's illegal. It's not ideal, but you can't be punished legally for it. You'll just be fired.

You don't know that employees circumstances. You automatically jumped to conclusions that this person is a bad person. The economy is awful, inflation, single mom. We shouldn't judge.

If you get let go, why would you use that excuse to tell on them? This person has no part in who gets let go. You would be punishing someone else just to make yourself feel better.

Conflict of interest is just garbage BS for the company. They are letting long time employees go so they can put in AI bots and fill back positions with cheaper employees. It's a conflict of my interest to be replaced with cheaper people and bots.

Curious about the original poster. MD's are required to work in the community to keep their skills and continued education active, some work in ER's on the weekend and even have some conflicts of interest that are overlooked. Once I'm out we will publish a website on dirty secrets, fraud committed by CNC, abuse of people, kickbacks. Many have been noted publicly in the past.

@db It wouldn't be your responsibility to report it out even if you knew. That's on the actual person with the 2 jobs. If they didn't report it, again that's on them. They are taking that risk. I could see if it was something else that was really shady that's effecting other teammates but working 2 jobs and actually being able to get both done isn't that. You don't own the company so if it's a conflict of interest, what's it to you?

Not going in favor or against the question posed, but there is something called conflict of interest. Everyone who has a second job MUST report it to CNC, regardless of the nature of the business, frequency of schedule (even if it’s weekend work). Working a second job while being “on the clock” with CNC, and probably with any other company, is illegal. Also, working at another job on paid holidays, vacation days or during sick time is also illegal. How do I know that? Because I had to report out on several other forms of income I had (part-time jobs and my own business).
It’s the responsibility of all of us to report out when we see illegal activity/behaviors happening.
Everyone has their own opinion, integrity and responsibility. I personally would rather not know about any of this so it didn’t become
MY responsibility to report it out.
But yes, that is against the COI. And technically, legally, should be reported. :/

you sound like a Karen who needs to mind their fu--ing business. if they’re getting their work done, who cares. there are people on my team who I know have side hustles and work on that during the day. it does not bother me. some people spend all their free time on their phones, why not be productive instead?

it’s really not an issue unless they are working for a competitor at the same time as Centene. still, don’t be that person.
