Try soon as you hit apply within it seemed just a couple of minutes, I had already got the rejection email.
No way it went to a person so they can read it.
It's like it's programmed to look for certain words and if it doesn't find them automatically throws it out.
No telling how many great people have lost chances because of something like that.
Automation is good to an extent, but certain things need to be left alone.
@mq If you want one parent to stay home instead of both parents equally putting in the time and effort, then you better be advocating for better maternity and paternity leave, and be advocating for stricter anti-discrimination laws for working parents. Using soft, emotional language to reinforce the idea that women need to be staying at home with their kids is just oppression with a softer tone.

She loved motion, loved light, loved color and music and textures. She would lie on the floor in her blue overalls patting the surface so hard in ecstasy her hands and feet would blur. She was a miracle to me, but when she was eight months old I had to leave her daytimes with the woman downstairs to whom she was no miracle at all”
Abandoning your most precious little one to a daycare that advertises “infant slot available” is just heartbreaking. One parent should stay home those short miraculous years. Eat Mac and cheese, drive old rusty Toyota.
Then go back to the RTO and other lunacy after a few years.
@kg This is so much aggression in one message, and you’re misplacing it by directing it at people who are encouraging more human, rather than cold and sterile, business practices.
There are so many reasons why someone would need to or mindlessly open their email while checking on kid or taking care of another imminent issue at 3am.
Businesses that claim to work off of evidence based best practices need to back it up with actions that display it. Sending emails that contain negative information in them at 3am is not that. Even functionally, the best time to send an email that does not end up in a spam filter is between 10am and 2pm.
@m0 I didn’t even say anything about gender. Single parents of all genders exist, and so do parents in same s-x partnerships. Sometimes aunts, grandparents, godmothers, etc. end up with the responsibility of a baby too. Going off of your binary: a system that relies on women staying at home while the husband goes to work is a broken one. Kids don’t just get “abandonment issues” because their mother decided to have a life outside and career of the home too. Plenty of children with working mothers, or with other forms of families, have grown up to be well adjusted, successful, and secure adults. Plenty of children with nuclear, traditional parents have not.
If OP single mother, I offer complete sympathies. Just sux to go through that will crying baby. Dont read further.
We chose to have wife stay home with our kids. We were poor, but could simply not put our kids in daycare to get raised by strangers. My wife worked way more than me stay at home mom. But we are thankful that our kids turned out well without abandonment issues. Plus those years of thrift allowed a to invest wife’s entire income when she returned to work and retired early. No salary slavery and fear to make payments on bling. No RTO bs etc.

Why are you making sh-t up to try an justify that it is wrong in your hurt feelings mind by sending an email at 3am.? There are reasons for it.
Soothing a baby AND reading work email at the same time huh? How about waking up and taking a monster dump and reading email at the same time instead? At least you get the double decker S88t sammie.

Any email other than the respect of a face to face is an isolation, regardless of time of day.

@c7 It’s generally just not a mindful practice. Imagine someone is applying after their baby woke them up crying at 3am, and now they have to both soothe a baby while processing their own stressful situation at the same time. Plus, you can’t ignore the self deletion risk that unemployment places on people. You don’t want to deliver bad news at a time of day where people are more likely to be isolated.
Batch emails are usually scheduled for overnight delivery to be available when people check their emails at the beginning of the day, throttling tends to be increased in the overnight hours for distribution platforms due to lack of user activity, and overnight delivery does not disrupt people during their 8-5 workday. If you don’t want to get a rejection email at 3am, stop applying. Just because you’re awake doesn’t mean everyone has insomnia.

be thankful you even got a rejection email. during my recent search I didn't hear anything from over 50% of the jobs I applied for

Then don't read your email until a more decent hour. Getting a rejection email at any time of the day or night is a horrible candidate experience. Waiting at least until you are up and have had your morning coffee, tea, or whatever can help.
