I liked working for him. He is one of the good guys to work for.

Jim's not a bad guy, just a little too intense in some situations maybe?

Avoid Ford Europe. Europeans don’t even buy European vehicles and they especially don’t buy Fords. Baumbick was put in charge because it is a dead end job.

@nw Those recalls are more like spam calls. Like reverse hoovering. Regarding the cut throat, I am truly unaware what you mean by that.

@nw Many years ago? Baumbick was an FCG in 1993...

Don’t work under Baumbick. My husband worked with him when the were both FCG’s (many years ago) and B is arrogant and cut throat. Also, why would you even consider working at Ford - the company with the most recalls in the world??

I'm 4 years in and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The job market is brutal, and that's why so many of us are still here. My coworker's kid was offered an internship here and both her Ford employee parents told her to turn it down.

Every single life long employee that I work with tells me to leave. They all talk about how much better it used to be. And this is where careers come to die.

@ad

I think we'd all like to know...what specifically is enticing you to consider Ford as an employer? There are plenty of places that give out paychecks. What makes Ford seem like a stable place to trust your future to?

Jim understands product and what matters most to customers. Many people hope he is on rotation in Europe as part of a plan that gets him the big job.
Go for it!
